Don't Worry That lady doesn't know what she's talking about. There are two colors yorkies can be, one of which is sliver. I would be concerned if that person specialized in yorkies but she doesn't so she is most likely wrong. :aimeeyork |
that lady is just supid, ask yourself this, if she was a dog judge, then why did she have to ask your friend what breed it was? *snicker* Yup, she's ed-u-ma-cated alright! there are hundreds of silver yorkies out there. My first yorkie was steel blue WITH silver and he was AKC |
1 Attachment(s) That woman is not only rude she is a liar! She is no more of a dog show judge than I am a circus clown. She is also ignorant about genetics. My Adie is silver and blond for Pete's sake! |

Please do me a favor and tell your friend how furious it makes some of us when we hear about behavior like that. I am still sputtering! |

I loved your post!!! :D |
If she really IS a judge, then she ought to know to keep her "judging" to the proper place..... the show ring, and not Petco where pet quality dogs of all breeds roam. There must be some code of ethics among reputable judges to only offer opinions when asked for. By all means encourage your friend to join YorkieTalk, where we all brag about each other's precious furbabies, regardless of color, weight, etc.----she will soon find that her Yorkie is just like many many others. |

Sounds to me that this person was just out to make someone feel bad... My mom has a 6 pound Yorkie that is blonde and silver.... |
I wonder if MIZ Wonder AKC judge knows that some, not all by a long shot, of dogs being shown are dyed that dark steel blue and if she is such an exert, she should know that silver is very common in this breed. She should attend a few more seminars!!LOL YOur dog is fine and is more than likely a pure bred Yorkie! Some people just think they walk on water!! |
I think your friend should join us all here on YT. For the support when ignorant people think they have to make hurtful comments and to find that Yorkies come in all shapes and sizes and colors, for that matter :). Floppy ears or perky ones, one up, one down, tails cropped or not....whatever! We love them ALL!!! People ask me all the time "what breed is your dog?" Walker is a Tea Pot Yorkie at little over 8 pounds and has VERY long legs for his breed. Clearly NOT standard. People who tease me about his pedigree are in my opinion just jealous because he's so well behaved :)and they wish their dog would be anything like Walker. That lady at Petco....if somebody puts that much effort into a confrontation they probably mask the fact that they would LOVE to own a dog like your friends! Have her join us....We'll cheer her up and make her forget about the whole thing:D:gbhouse::santa: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! |
