Hello everyone Im new on this forum.. However im on here to find my puppy a name. I will be getting her january 25 . She was born about 2 weeks ago. I am having trouble trying to find her a name however I am so far stuck on princess and bella.

Congrats on your new little girl. I think Princess and Bella are very cute. Princess Bella would be a fine name. I have a Chloe and a Sydney. Some other girl names ........

Mia , Zoe , True , Marley , Piper , Lola , Phoebe , Lily , Shiloh , Tessa , Angel , Katie , Savannah , Sasha , Mila, Mirina ,Paige ,Kendra,Holly , Eden , Ella .

Good luck finding a name , I know it can be a hard choice :D

Congratulations! Picking out names is so fun!! Do you have anything that you like a lot like a sport, state, city,song, or spice?? Or you could try a different ethic name. I let my family help name my Yorkies #2 and #3 but I had my first Yorkie's name picked out for over ten years before I got him!!

My first Yorkie is named Jeter, because I am a Yankee fan and Derek Jeter is my favorite player in baseball. Then I have Axl, he was going to be DiMaggio but Axl suited him more;) he has this "bad boy" look to him so he got Axl from my son naming him after Axl Rose! DiMaggio is still in his full AKC name. Now my girl is named Yumi Yasha, it's Japanese and Yumi ( pronounce YOU MEE) means Beautiful and Yasha means small forest spirit/ demon. Her name fits her so well she is turning out to be so darling looking and she has an attitude sometimes that makes you think she is a demon:rolleyes:

MAybe you should wait and see her personality. Before i got my girl i picked out the name Keely for her. BUT After having her for a week I realized i made a terrible mistake. I should have called her Maddie..Argh, I still get mad at myself for not waiting. I didnt want to change it because the name was already on her papers, It had stuck to me and I would have confused her. I would wait and make the final choice after youve had her for a few days..Good luck!

Welcome to YT:) and congrats on your new pup! I like the names Princess and Bella. Some ideas I've had are: Holly, Ruby, Pepper, Honey, Shayla.....Good luck with your new baby and be sure to update us with pics:D

Thanks everyone for replying .. I thought no one will replied !! =) im going to go back and read everyones message now thanks again=) and I will post pictures when i get her hopefully on the 24/25 the lady said we can come first to pick out of the 2 girls she has. I am so excited .. My birthday is on the 30th so she'll be a birthday present for me =)

Im getting her from this breeder where my boyfriend's mom got her's from along with her co workers and sister in laws.. she should be around 6/7 weeks by the time we get her.. were not getting her until around 25/30th she was born dec 16

This is what I was going to ask too. If you are going to get your puppy at such a young age (and I'm not judging, because I did too!) you really need to start doing some research, particularly on hypoglycemia. I struggled with my Missy because I got her at 7 weeks 3 days of age. If I could turn back time....

It's just a suggestion, but I really think you should really try to have your puppy stay with her Mama a bit longer. I know that it's hard, and you're excited...but it could be the difference between life and death. These little ones can go downhill fast.

Good Luck! I think you have tons of suggestions for some cute girl names. Can't wait to see pics! :)

Great suggestions.

Just know that Hypoglycemia can effect her pup well up to around 6 months of age.

Certainly do your homework and be prepared as best ya can for taking home a puppy at that age. Also, check and see if it's even legal in your area for your breeder to even sell puppies so young. Many states require them to be 7 weeks and others 8.

If the puppy can stay with it's mother just another week or two, the better of she'll be. But if that's not an option, then simply improve your odds of being ready for taking in such a little one!

Congratulations on your new baby!! I know how exciting it is! I just added a new little girl to my fur family and I asked YT for name suggestions as well. I ended up naming her Agnes (because I am weird ha ha:) ).

But if I hadn't decided to go with an old fashioned name to go with my little boy Ralphie, I would have chosen either: Lola, Evie, Ava or Lilly.

Good luck with your new baby and I can't wait to see pics and hear what you decided to name her :p:p

I just named my furbaby "Meg" which is short for "Megatron". My husband picked the name. He thought it would be funny to have a big dog name for such a tiny lil gal (she's 1.07 lb at 11 wks), and I like the name "Meg".

Hello Everyone,

Im new here. I just rescued a six year old yorkie from a puppy mill about two weeks ago. I am also struggling with a new name for her. At the rescue they had named her Claire and she seems to know her name, but I kinda want to change it. Is that bad? I was thinking Chloe? Any suggestions?.

Also, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with yorkies from puppymills? My yorkie is constantly spinning or circling!!!. She does it all the time, on a walk, at the dog park, at home, etc... I assume its due to being in a cage most of her life, but just wanna make sure nothings physically wrong with her. The funny thing is if you put her on the bed, she settles down and goes right to sleep! the bed is the only place she does not spin!!!

Any suggestions would help!. Thanks!

Hi and welcome to YT !!!! I think what Amanda means is 6-7 weeks is sooo young to bring a baby home. :) Normally they are at least 10 to 12 weeks. If you do get her that early you will really need to make sure she is eating well on her own. Read up on Hypoglycemia, being so young so much can happen :)

Hi I also have a puppymill girl. They take a little longer then most (I think they do) I have read that it can take a year or better. But with love and understanding they make great pets. I think they know how lucky they are and will reward you 10 times over :D:D Ivy is 5yo or so and didn't have a name so if you would like to change her name I would. I love the name Chloe. Best of luck, and I would love to hear how things go with you both. ( I think we should have a puppymill club so we can help each other):p

I originally planned to get a little girl and call her "Dotty"("Dot" for short), but ended up with a boy instead. I just think "Dot" seems cute/appropriate for a tiny yorkie. :D

I also love the name Molly.
