Very angry with my Mom I am so upset with my Mom. She said point blank yesterday, and tell your daughter not to bring her dog here for Christmas (she doesn't like animals). Poor little Bella who is peepad and outside trained. She is a very calm good little girl, cannot go to my Moms with us for Christmas. My daughter bought her a Christmas dress and bow. Now whe will have to spend the day home alone. Some people are just mean and have no heart.:thumbdown |
Oh I am so sorry.. some people just don't know what they are missing without the love of a pet.. I am so sorry.. hugs, cArmen in nj |
I'm sorry. I know this may sound mean but you know what sometimes you are far better off alone then with family. This is the first year we are spending Christmas alone. It's just myself, hubby and our two sons and our Yorkies and Boo our parot. Every year I have my parents here (Been doing this for 20 years) while my brother and his family enjoy their quiet Christmas with no fuss or mess. This year for a lot of reasons I just said to hell with it and told him that I'm not doing Christmas. I have to say I'm enjoying the quiet time in my fatty pajamas with my kids and dogs and parrot:) You know what they say - you can pick your friends but not your family. Elaine |
Sorry to hear. Probably too late, but could you tell your mom your are not coming without Bella, & invite her to your place instead? It's not like Bella is a Great Dane, not that there's anything wrong with Great Danes. |
i kno what you mean,my dad and stepmom arent very thrilled with Bailee coming to stay with them,oh well it was either me AND Bailee or neither:D |
Boy I'm glad I have a family that loves animals! All my family loves to have my boys over, but I need some belly bands lol |
oh I always put belly bands on Harry boy, and little diaper skirts on the girls when we visit, you want a cause a good impression and want to be invited back...:p I do take some time and bring them out for a little walk and puppy business tho.. hugs, carmen in nj |
I would never be able to take any of my dogs to my in-laws as they're not dog people. Lucky for me, they moved back up north a year ago. Now my Mom always says my dogs are welcome at her house, but, very seldom do I drive 800 miles to see mom. I know where you're coming from, don't understand how people couldn't not like dogs, but, a lot of people are just like that |
I am sorry! That must be hard for you and your daughter. I am greatful that both my in laws and my parents see my girls as their actual grandchildren. They love my girls. |
How upsetting for you and your family! Some people just ar not pet people:thumbdown Our entire family loves animals and I never have problems with my pups not being welcomed into my parents or the inlaws homes. They get upset when I don't bring them:rolleyes: |
I'm sorry!! I left my guys home for one family party because there were just too many people there, but it was nearby so we weren't gone all day. Last night we took them to my parents' house (only 8 people there) and my mom and dad and brother are watching them for us while we go to the in-laws all day today. My in-laws "invited" them to sit in a crate the whole time in a bedroom - um, no fun for us OR the dogs so they are going to Camp Grandma for the day and they will have so much fun :D If it means she has to stay home alone, I would call your mom and tell her you can only stay for 2 hours because the puppy can't be left alone longer than that. Tell her you have to find out exactly what time she is serving food because you can't wait around all day... etc. She might change her mind :) Bring a sling if you have one so she can be carried around and not be underfoot the whole time. We brought our crate yesterday and put the dogs in there while we ate. Sammy is quite the pest begging for food and I didn't want to be rude and I didn't want them to eat something they shouldn't. It worked out great. Maybe that would help mom be OK with it? |
trust me I know what you mean when it comes to family. Yesterday everyone came to our house and I had to shut Tyke up in the bedroom when everyone was getting their food. then I let him out a little while and had to put him back which i hated, but the little kids were to active and they weren't watching him. So later I got him out and held him the last hour they were here. There were to many people here for him to be running around and I didn't like putting him in there.:( So sometimes it stinks if they come to your house too. ( well i mean alot of people) At thanksgiving my side of the family came and we let him out because there isn't any little kids running around, so he was ok then. I would feel bad to leaving him while we go celebrate Christmas. But today we stay home and have a nice quite day. sorry for your situation, but i really know how you feel because we have grouchy family that isn't crazy about pets.:thumbdown HOpe you have a nice Christmas anyways! |
Dont be mad Youre mom can help how she feels I feel bad for her she does not know the love of a pet Quote:

im not alone !!! I have stayed in tonight with kinnys and my partner has gone to staff xmas dinner, she was not welcome even though she visits most weeks (its a bar come restaraunt with outside seating,) and we did ask if she could come along age ago, all the staff loveher and she is very well behaved, so no dog no me !!! |
Next year will be home for Christmas 'Well next year we will be staying home for Christmas. It will be a nice quiet peaceful day. Bella looked so sad when we left. When we got home she just jumped in our arms and stayed there. And Carmen from NJ we were actually in Hopatcong Heights today celebrating Christmas at my Moms. :yorkiesar:xmascand::xmascand: |
oh shoot girl, you should droped Bella with me.. she is always welcome in my humble home.. hey we got a get together so Bella and Prada can play.. hugs, Carmen in nj who was home and had a very nice quiet christmas and even had time to start painting a doll..LOL |
Family Holiday or the Dog? It's a shame that you have to choose between a Family Holiday Celebration or stay Home alone w/your Babies. Me and my Mom were going to drive all the way to my Sisters House in San Antonio, TX all 23 hr. drive each way not to mention the cost of Gas, Hotel and Food. I was planning to bring my 3 Yorkies and also have our other Sister fly in to meet us for Xmas. My Sister told me not to bother coming unless I was going to leave them behind, since her Husband only allows her 2 Yorkies in the Kitchen, Dining Room or Yard their "Designated Areas" since they are'nt clean enough to him. They are Crated most of the time and she only spends a certain amount of time with them. Mine on the other hand Live w/me 24/7 and go everywhere, as well as sleep w/me. My Mother actually was the one that took it personal, she was the one that said "Never mind that's OK."! I was very hurt at first and took it as an insult, but now it just makes me want to go down there just to show my Stupid Brother in Law how well Trained Yorkies behave. Whats disappointing is they don't even give you and your dog a chance? I enjoy the company of my 3 Yorkies to most of my Relatives any day "Merry Christmas"! |
I am so sorry you cant have your puppy on Christmas. Funny because I came here BECAUSE I am sitting alone on Christmas for this very reason. My baby wasnt welcome. Some cant have fun unless drugs and alcohol are involved. Well, I cant have fun unless I have my doggie. Id rather be around ANY dog over ANY drunk any day! haha No pup, no me. And I dont regret it a bit! Because I know had I gone, I would only be wanting to get back home to my baby. No pup, no Christmas. :( Like our children, this breed is so dependent we get use to caring for them. Without them around, we just dont know what to do. :animal-pa |
How can someone not love a cute little yorkie who only wants to shower you with kisses?!?!?!?! Sorry you had to experience that. |
Just because she doesn't like animals doesn't make for rude behavior. My family loves Roxy and my hubby's mom say's she loves her but she's always trying to discipline her, like she's trying to help, so I just keep her in my lap or hoodie, which she loves anyway, back to the subject now, maybe you could have put her inside your shirt and told ur mom u had a boob job and it was after surgery settle down period ! LOL.....we don't mind quiet time on Christmas Day after all the hub-bub either ! I hope you had a wonderful day ! |
We took Shelby & Seymour with us up north for the holidays and at times there were LOTS of people, so they were actually more content and less stressed in their crates in my Mom's bedroom. (they were crated for a total of 2 hours at a time..... which is very reasonable) My family are pet people, but I was thinking about the dogs....... and after a little while in their crates, they slept! Crates should be a safe-haven for dogs, and not considered a bad place to be!!! You can teach your pets to LOVE their crates. |
Our son brought his 2 yorkies over lastnight for our Christmas dinner. The little girl he has used to be ours, and she's very well behaved and uses her pee pads, now her little brother, I would like for son to leave him home(never have told my son that, as I love dogs and would never hurt my sons feelings), but, he comes here and lifts his leg and we're always stepping in pee after they leave, plus he's very wild). HELP, I need belly bands for when he comes over. I love the little guy, but, he upsets all of my dogs and then the peeing. I did tell my son I'm getting him belly bands and when he comes to Grandmas, he's going to have to start wearing them. |
Is the little guy neutered? Quote:

Doggie diapers yes phfgkl, I was even going to put on one of her doggie diapers I bought for her before she was spayedand she went into heat. I figured just to be safe. But it is easier to just stay home next year. And enjoy my immediate family and my little furbaby. And hopefully a new little boy furbaby brother for Bella. My skin kids laugh at me because I am looking to add a furbaby Boy in late February early March. I want to name him Snorkey and my kids all yell are you crazy. My daughter said we have to name him Luigi. So we will have Bella and Luigi. LOL:D:aimeeyork |

awe, im sorry to hear about that. :thumbdown My mom told me before i left last night with Fiona, that the next time she sees her, she wants her to be cut! Fiona has long hair, and im very leary to get her cut, because i dont want them to chop all her black puppy hair =( but some people are just mean! |
Agree I have to agree with you......:( |
Carmen in NJ Maybe we could meet up one day after the Holidays. It would be nice to meet another Yorkie lover. Which is certainly not my Family.:aimeeyork |

Yeah ...everybody isn't or aren't dog lovers Go figger... But unfortunately we can't change their minds You're either going to have to abide by her rules or have people over your house It's them that are missing out |
Although it was hard, we had to leave Sophie home alone all day yesterday while we celebrated Christmas with my hubby's family. Not because they don't like animals, they love them. They live on an acreage and have horses, a goat, a dog, cat, and bird. It is because we don't know how their dog would do with Sophie, and their a bird. Their dog is big and not used to other dogs. And Sophie goes NUTS around birds. I think she killed our parakeet by barking at it constantly (just kidding)! So we never take her out to their house. We will take her to my parents' house tomorrow though, even if my dad isn't crazy about her. |
