Do they need booties for snow? I'm in NJ and the snow is falling and sticking. This will be Sasha's first snow (she's 10 months). Since I don't have a backyard we just walk around the block while she does her business. But I don't know if all of the paths we take will be shoveled by the time I get home so I'm wondering if our little babies really need booties for the snow or would they be ok without them. I pass a small pet store on my way home so I could pick some up if need be. They're actually really cute. :) |
I'm wondering too. We are having alot of snow fall right now and I wonder if it will be too cold for their feet. |
I'm thinking I should go ahead and get them. I know me personally, I could be dressed like an eskimo but if my feet are cold then the rest of me is cold. |
Someone told me that Yorkies have an especialy difficult time walking in booties because their paws are so small. I've seen some other posters here talking about them though, so maybe they can recommend some good brands for small dogs. |
ground is getting too cold even for my sheltie max and he has a very warm undercoat and coat....he was laying on his back one day with hubby because he didnt know what to do about the cold. so my lil 3 lb yorkie needs booties! hehe any store suggestions? |
I don't remeber the brand name of the booties I saw but they came in XS. I would imagine they would be uncomfortable simply because clothing just isn't "natural" for dogs...lol. Sasha runs away when she sees me get her sweater. I have to chase her and then fight to hold her still to put it on. But once she gets outside it's like she forgets she's clothed. I'm hoping it will be the same for booties. |

I make booties Hi, I just wanted to let you all know I have 3 yorkies and one is only 4 lbs, tiny feet and they will not go potty without them, I make them with just fleece or reg cotton material, so that the are not so bulky for them, they love them , I mean at first they was like whoa...but mine tie on and are very comfortable, for the little feet. they love them now. I was told that the pads of a dogs feet are very quick to get frost bitten. scared me... so they wear there booties. |
I got some mutt lucks for Gracie, she had them off in two seconds. |
1 Attachment(s) here's a picture of my Prada wearing her Pink fleece ones. hugs, |
It's a personal preference things for owners and their Yorkies. :) I wouldn't be opposed to Ellie wearing them but she would hate them and we are outside so little that we don't bother right now. I actually would be more concerned about the hot pavement in the summer... We have probably 6-8 inches here and closer to 2 feet in the plowed areas and she just does her business and we come right back in. :) |
So cute Prada looks so cute and stylish in her coat and boots. Too Cute:cheer: |
