Funny story thread

This is a thread where we can share some funny stories about our yorkies. Okay, we have a lounge chair that has this huge pillow that is on the back of the chair. Sasha is 7 lbs so we let her get up and off of it by herself, and she really likes laying on the pillow. Anyway, she was sleeping on the pillow and decided to get on the couch. She stands up, strecthes, looks at the floor, couch, and the lounge chair. Then, she rolls down the pillow, jumps down, trys to make it to the couch but falls asleep on the floor! :rolleyes:LOL! I picked her up and put her up there still laughing! She was too lazy to jump off the pillow onto the chair, to the ground, take 5 steps to the couch and jump on the couch!

Triss likes to sit in front of the mirror and growl and bark at her reflection. Its so funny!

spoiledgirls 12-10-2008 07:08 PM

I don't have any recent pics of her doing it, but I have a few from when she was a pup. I really need to catch her with a few pics now. Lol, she gets so mad at the mirror!! :p

Lexi LOVES her flossies. Her first one, she chewed in about 3 days, compared to her bully stick, which can last for 2 months...

Now, though, when she gets a flossie, she will carry it around, looking for "the perfect" spot to hide it. She will actually make these little whimpering cries while she trots around!

When she does find a spot, she will often work hard to try to cover it up. A little later, though, she may get it and run around crying, looking for another spot to hide it. Then, it could disappear for days, or even weeks! Only on a rare occasion will she actually chew it. :)

Not a funny dog story, but doggie-related. My son is taking French in school, and is very interested in it. He's trying to teach Lexi French. He is calling her toys by their French names: l'oiseau, le grenouille, ...

My boyfriend dies laughing every time he gives Lilly a treat. He tells her to sit then she does so he goes to give her the treat... when the treat gets about 3 inches from her mouth, her butt pops up. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Just like she has a spring under her and it pushes her butt up RIGHT when the treat gets down by her mouth. She's a nut.

Oh and it's pretty bad when you get the camera out and your dog automatically goes underneath the Christmas tree and sits pretty. She loves her treats. Pretty much like a woman and her chocolate.

LoveMyJake 12-11-2008 04:59 AM

lol that's so cute.....and funny!

Mine are always coming up with new antics that make me laugh. Their newest game is playing ball on the steps. Jackson stays at the top of the steps and rolls a ball down. Jake goes after it, and takes it back to Jackson. (Notice how Jackson gets the easy part:rolleyes:) Yesterday, Jake wouldn't chase the ball so Jackson came down and got it. Jake took that opportunity to run upstairs so that Jackson would have to bring it to him. So, Jake did the rolling and Jackson did the fetching lol

I was on the floor yesterday, on my hands and knees, trying to get something out from under the desk. All of a sudden Baxter jumps up on my back, and goes up to my shoulders and is looking over by my head, like he was trying to see if he could help me. LOL it was just too funny.

TeresaM 12-11-2008 05:14 AM

With 2 in the house under 1 year of age, the antics are endless. One of the latest ones is with Yogi (4 mo old). He has recently "found" his legs so running is currently one of his favorite things to do. He has his ears flattened, head lowered, full out, super sonic run that he'll do around the backyard. But lately he does, what I call, his Super Hero Run. He'll run from the front door all the way thru the living room and kitchen to the backdoor, his head and tail held high, throwing his legs out in front of him, very exaggerated. It's not fast, just very animated. It looks like he thinks he's flying. I hear the theme song for Mighty Mouse (:note:Here I come to save the day! Mighty Mouse is on the way.:note:) every time I see him do it. Now he's taken to carrying one of his toys while he does this. I think it must sometimes be the villain that hes vanquishing as he growls while he's "flying" with it and sometimes it must be who he's saving as during those times he's simply squeaking it. We had to pause the movie the other night to watch him, it was so cute. He'd run one direction growling and the other direction squeaking.

spoiledgirls 12-11-2008 07:47 PM

lol, all these stories are so cute. Sometime all it takes to have entertainment is a yorkie or just a plain out dog!

Lol! I wonder if she thinks they're on fire, or if the smell of the smoke bothers her little nose and she doesn't like it??

I have one of those Vicks nose-inhaler thingies, that you put up to your nose and sniff to clear the sinuses (but it doesn't spray). A few months ago I had it out and was using it, and Bella was curious, so she came up to smell it. Then she shook her head and started rubbing her nose against the comforter. She didn't like it at all! She tried it a couple more times before she got wise to it, and then would growl and jump around and hide her nose when she saw it. Now, months later, she still remembers it. When I get it out now, she starts poucing around backing away and growly-whining.....her little nose is so sensitive I guess that it absolutely didn't agree with her, and she has it in long-term memory too!

hviola 12-12-2008 09:42 AM

Okay, last night we were wrapping presents and were left with 2 empty roll tubes. We were holding the long cardboard tube up to our mouth and make noises so the sound would come out the other end. Well, Triss was freaking out about this. She would look at the end of the tube and do the cute head tilt thing, then pounce at it like a cat. It was so funny, she didn't know what the heck it was. My daschund, Spike, came to see what was going on and started howling at it. Me and my husband haven't laughed that hard in ages.

kinnykins 12-12-2008 11:49 AM

i love it when sophie runs as fast as she can between the bedrooms (that are opposite each other ) in and out with her panting as she runs, all u see is a streak flying past hilarious !!!

spoiledgirls 12-12-2008 01:48 PM

LOL! I love the smelling things one! The pics are really cute too! Sasha, when she is eating before she eats a piece she has to"kill it" and sometimes she will fling the piece all the way across the room! Sometimes if she throughs it too hard she loses it and searches for it forever!

Toby and the Manger

I just took Toby out for a walk, and the Church on the corner was having the Manger set up. The men working are friends of mine, so I stopped to talk. They met Toby, gave him treats, and as we conversed Toby started looking around. He started barking like crazy and dancing around. When we looked to see what he was barking at, we saw that it was the little grey Donkey!
Must have been the size or way the donkey was looking at him, 'cause none of the other animals made him bark!:animal36

We were watching TV last night and I heard a rusttling sound near our tree and Jasmine was eating fake snow off our tree! We got her to stop, but we better keep an eye on her!

LOL, I think it was the fact that it was a donkey.:) A house in our neighborhood used to have a cast iron donkey (just a little thing, about the size of my mixed breed Kirby) in their front yard. Everytime we'd take Kirby for a walk past that house it was everything we could do to get him to walk by peacefully. His hair would stand up, he'd growl, look over his shoulder at it as we passed...

Anyway, one day I'd had enough so I went ahead and walked through their yard right up to the donkey...LOL, Kirby flew toward him, ran around the back and sniffed his butt:yelrotflm Ha, ha, he never worried about that donkey after that.:)

Junior TN 12-13-2008 12:07 PM

Junior

When I let Junior out in our yard he will run as fast as he can around the entire yard and return before I even make it back inside the door.

Junior runs in fear whenever I do laundry and get ready to fold the clothes. I do not know why he does that. He is otherwise very brave and will try to attack large dogs.

Junior sleeps on top of the recliner, the part when you rest your head. When he jumps on it the chair rocks back and forth and he never falls off.

hahah, cute stories!:D

stillsmyelin 12-13-2008 06:56 PM

I have a hilarious story to tell as well, but not sure I can tell it as funny as it actually was! lol

My hubby had just gone to get in the shower and I was alone in the living room with Bella. All of a sudden, she starting growling and backing away from what I thought was something in the kitchen. I was okay for a second, but started to think about what in the world she could be seeing in there and my imagination went wild. I'd heard that dogs were sensitive to ghostly images and whatnot and really started freaking out. I actually hollered for my daughter to come out of her room and sit in the living room with me because I was so freaked out. She saw what I saw too with Bella acting as if something was coming towards us and backing up and barking. We kept trying to call her to us, but she wasn't listening at all and I wasn't about to try to get up and get her...lol. I was seriously scared out of my mind...

My hubby finally got out of his shower and helped us to figure out that Bella was actually barking at his shoes that he'd put at the top of her doggy stairs. We laughed until we cried!

spoiledgirls 12-13-2008 06:59 PM

That is funny! Yorkies sometimes bark at the silliest things!

KimberlySRN 12-13-2008 11:03 PM

Today when Jer got home from work, we decided to take a nap before dinner. Suri was so hyper I put her between us with one of her favorite toys, a pink bunny. We watched tv a bit and watched suri play like a wild woman. The next thing I look and Jer is asleep with his back toward me and suri is back to back with Jer hugging her stuffed bunny with an ear in her mouth! I mean she had a death grip on that poor bunny and she was knocked out! I took pics on my phone . I tried to take the toy and she held onto it but was still sleeping! She finally woke up and had the funniest look ok her face. :)

Sometimes, when Pao refuses his food, I take out his really old one eyed small hippo soft toy (about 10" tall) and hold it above his food and then make the hippo act like it is eating from his bowl...and he will compete with the one eyed hippo and finish all his food quickly. It just cracks me up..only works with the one eyed hippo.

Hahaha I've done this with Mahina before to, my sister would make noises into the tube, but she seemed a little scared of it... at first she'd pounce, growl, bark like crazy but then she'd run on my lap and look at me. Then she'd do it all over again. LOL

rayray08 12-15-2008 06:50 AM

These stories are hilarious.

I have to funny stories about Mahina. She loves to play with my cat Midori a couple of times a day. So Midori will sit by my bed and Mahina will run all the way from the kitchen to my room just barely passing her by and Midori will stick her paw out (no claws) and try to give her a wack each time she runs by. It's hiarious, I'm still trying to get it on camera. Sometimes Mahina will run around Midori but far enough away that she can't touch her. HAHA.

Another one is Midori is always trying to eat Mahina's food. I free feed for the time being. So I yell at Midori more than a few times today (I just yelled at her right now). Each time I do it, Mahina will run up to Midori and start barking at her to get away from her food! So now whenever she does it all I have to say is "Mahina go get her!" and she stops her. LOL.

Skeeter (10 months) does that racing around the house thing. There are open doorways between the living room and kitchen, the kitchen and the hall and the livingroom and the hall so he has a field day running around in circles. He loves to torment our shih tzu by smacking her in the rump when he goes by. He's going so fast she usually can't see him by the time she turns around - then he's in back of her smacking her butt again. When he gets brave he'll do it to Ivan (120 lb german shepherd) but he runs under a chair after he does so Ivan can't reach him. As soon as Ivan looses interest Skeeter is back on the run. If Adie has a toy he will snatch that up as he's running by. She doesn't appreciate it and will chase him till he drops it. You'd thing he wouldn't be so porky with all that running!
