Dayzee, the teapot yorkie, belongs to the husband--and she knows it. Or is it the husband is owned by the Yorkie???? But, equally so, Cruiser and Abbi are always in his lap. And I get the Havanese, GeeGee and Itzi--except when he is licking the husband's head. |
So i didn't add to my post if it wasn't for my husband we wouldn't have ever got Bridgette and so never had Teddy. Because of my husband we have found our love for Yorkies! Just because they claim "it's a girls dog" doesn't mean behind closed door they can't be enamored with them. Anyone that has a yorkie knows their awesome! |
well i am a guy and i have always like yorkies. i like to consider myslef a manly man i hunt fish camp and all sorts of outdoor manly things. i love taking my little dogs to the mountain for a ride in the truck and the love it too. when we go fishing they are in the water playing its like having a black lab with attitude but not the size the large poops and a much smaller food bill. i dont know why the sterotype of them being a girls dog happened maybe because men are too insecure about themselves they need a ginormous dog. but for me my 12 lbs between my two dogs is pleanty. |

Now there's a real man! You are right they are insecure. :D |
Because some guys like big, strong, sturdy things. They get the bigger truck, and they want to eat the bigger burger. They think "small' is associated with the female gender. But those guys don't know what they are missing :) |
I had to beg Adam for a dog for years. Finally, we both agreed to get a yorkie because of its size, it would be easier to take care of. My hubby was not a animal person, couldn't care less, but when we brought her home, she won him over immediately. She would snuggle up against him any opportunity she got. I think she made him feel needed and with her great personality, he couldn't stand a chance. We work at a predominantly male office and they are all smitten with her charm!! I think all our guy friends are under her spell! heehee |

I think it has to do with thier size and hair. The fact that you can put them in a purse and they conviently get comfy. And thier hair is amazing!!!! You can pretty much test hair styles on a yorkie. You can keep it long or short add a bow, braids pretty much go crazy!!!!! That and i think they get attached to females easier. Sasha sent the day me and my brother in law picked her up has been attached to me. She went straight for me in the van. Plus i think girls give in easier and spoil them. How many men go shopping to get thier dogs dresses with matching bows? none that i know of |
For different reasons. Some men seem to think that small dogs will "ruin" their image. This happens quite often. And, these men are often composating for something. Who knows what. These men are usually the men who go out and get those overbred, ugly (i love dogs, but they ARE ugly) monsters of rottweilers or pit bulls or mastiffs. While I love all three of those breeds, the overbred ones are just... yuck. Then, there are men who simply can't admit that yorkie or a chihuahua or a papillon would make a better companion for them than a dogo argentino. (my brother in law is a man like this- he thinks an American pit bull terrier is "his" breed; however, I've seen him with our chihuahuas and honestly, they are the PERFECT companion for him- after all, he likes his dogs cuddly, playful and feisty) There are also men that simply prefer rough housing with big dogs over small dogs. Can't blame them. It is fun roughhousing with big dogs. Personally, I think the whole "small dogs are for girls, big dogs are for boys" thing is a bit sexist and stupid. A dog is a dog. Some big dogs make GREAT companions for girls and vice versa. I have a saying that I use all the time... "Silly girls, small dogs are for boys!" :aimeeyork |
all i have to say is...... Avie & Gemma have their daddy wrapped around their lil paws  AND HE IS NOT ASHAMED TO ADMIT IT EITHER! ;) :D |
My husband was the one who chose a Yorkie...Behind close doors, he hugs and smooch and kiss and carry my furbaby..he calls Pao his furry kid too..but in front of his friends he says he wants a big dog for rough housing...but looking at him smooch my baby melts my heart..man could be soft-hearted too and I like to see that side of him. |
I think men have this image of little dogs in clothes, sitting in purses or laps. Then when they are lucky enough to own one and they see that little dogs have these great personality, they immediately fall in love with them, and because they are so small, they feel stronger like they can protect their little angels or something! haha |

Yorkies are BIG BAD dogs in Little dog bodies in fact it can sometimes get them kinto trouble are they considered "Girl" dogs? Yeah to some people But so are most toy dogs and out of their counterparts Poodles Maltese Chihuahua I think Yorkies are the fiestiest and have the bravest little souls :p |
BridgettesMomma, that was beautifull!! GOd bless you |
I caught my husband looking at YT the other day. I just laughed. He is such a Yorkie guy. |
Well, my hubby is over 6 feet tall and 275 pounds and it was HIS idea to get a yorkie. Whenever we go out and take little LuLu with us, if he's carrying her and someone says something....this is his reply.... "It takes a REAL man to have a yorkie." He absolutely adores her! I think it's so funny. He even loves it when I dress her up in one of her many different outfits. |
