Bailey is a heavy weight among Yorkies. I know he weighs at least 9 lbs and maybe 10ish. He could stand to lose a little weight, maybe a lb. or so but not much more. He is also very silver and light colored all over. Samc and my buddy Bailey  |
My Neo looks just like her.To cute.I was a little dissaponted too but i love him to death. Heather |
Gracie is like Indy - she is 8 pounds and a little longer than she should be. She has a cottony coat and at one year of age is still black and tan - no sign of changing color yet. |
I love the BEach Pic... WE just went to the Dog beach on sunday .. we had a blast.. |

My Piper looks almost blue if you look at her pictures she has always looked very different, many people ask me if she is a yorkie I guess because she doesn't look like a standard yorkie. |
3 Attachment(s) skoshi was black and tan and now he is turning silver all over. you can really tell on his face but on his back you gotta look close to see it coming up these were all of him when we first got him you see how dark he was |
4 Attachment(s) this is him now turning silver. |
My Wylie (avatar) was black/tan when I got him, but def. had some "whitish looking" roots under the black on his head. These grew more as he got older. Now, he has a blonde (not gold) head and a silvery/whitish/blonde body. Really light. My father-in-law always says "ya moved to AZ and it bleached out our grandpuppy - he needs sunscreen!". LOL. Unfortunately (in terms of breeders, not in terms of my BABY), this color is not the standard. Rather, it is most likely the sign of a poor breeder. I've been keeping an eye on this breeder, and I think she is a backyard breeder who seems to always have litters on hand - not good. Also, Wylie is above standard weight (7.5 pounds and he was the runt!), has bad patellas, and had one testicle undescended resulting in some major surgery. It taught me some firm lessons in breeder selection - bc I don't want to support this kind of breeder who risks some health issues. I LOVE love love my Wylie and wouldn't change a thing - but - his breeder was not honest and is not concerned with her line's health. Your baby is adorable!!! He may still turn out dark, it is amazing how they evolve. Best, Ann |
3 Attachment(s) Percys' hair is doing crazy things as well. The ends are still black from his puppy coat, his face has some gold on it, but the top of his head is silver/grey, his body is turning that silver/blue/grey as well....he is like half a dozen different colors...and as much as I hate to say it...the whole blue/silver/grey thing confuses me. I know they are called "blue", but they look silver to me. I think Percy is going through an "awkward" stage... (oh, if anyone would like to help me out on the colors, that would be great) |
2 Attachment(s) Penny is a light-colored Yorkie, too. I love it. When we first got her we really wanted the black to stay because we thought it was so cute. I adore her blond and tan, though. She's 3 yrs 3 months old. Here's a pic of the first night with her (almsot 5 months old) and now. |
I hope you have looked up about yorkie coats. The correct standard is steele blue and gold however, there is black and tan, black and gold (reddish) blue and tan and yes golden, liver (chocolate), and almost pure black. Now there is the Biewer that is colored like a calico cat. Heck I've even had hairless. But who cares....they are all wonderful. I have so many different colors and hair type, silky, wooley (cotton), wirey, short, long.....Mine even has tails as I do not cut them and only buy babies with tails! |
