She is 13 weeks now and really still has some adjusting to do..She bites!..Terribly..(not playing)...by what I have read the 1st weeks they really learn a lot about socialization from Mom and brothers and sisters. All the rough-housing they do in the litter teaches them how hard they can bite, how to behave.. etc.. she is getting better. Thats not even mentioning how worried and how close I had to watch her and the days I pratically had to force her to eat..she is a piggy now..I think they need Mommy till 12 - 13 weeks...
 | yes, they learn to have soft mouth by playing with their bothers, sisters, and mommy. i hope your baby doesn't bit you too hard anymore. i took milu to puppy school and they told us that it is important that you play with your puppy and have them bite you - softly that is! so you let them bite your hand and say "ah-ah" if it hurts a little. and say it loudly if it really hurts and stop playing. i still let milu bit me all the time when we play, but she has really soft mouth so it doesn't hurt me at all. :D
i also need her to have soft mouth because i have bunnies and when she plays with the bunnies, i need to make sure that she doesn't bite them hard.
at the puppy class, there was one puppy who was SO CUTE! she would put her own lips over her teeth when she bites people to make sure she is not biting hard. how cute is that! :D |
