Like you, I've always wanted a yorkie and my dh finally agreed to get one for me for Christmas this year too. My dh named Maximus on our way to pick him up (he'd only saw his picture on the sellers ad) after his favorite movie, Gladiator. Of course, I liked the name, or I would have changed it. lol We got him on November 1st and he is such a joy! I don't know if I could love the little booger any more. I have to agree with Ashley, I already want another (female) to go with him (not to breed). He is so much fun! I can only imagine having a little girl to dress up!

Ours was pretty much the same way, except my DH was wanting the yorkie and I thought he was nuts. We chose Chip's name after we got him home and played with him for awhile. 7 months later I get a call from my best friend's mom that there is a yorkie needing a home badly... so the next day I went and got my Smokey :-) The rescuer had already renamed him Smokey, but his original name was Coby. I figured that his name had already been changed and I didn't want to confuse him anymore (he had been to 5 homes and he was only 6 months old.) so we just kept Smokey.

Your baby is so cute! Congratulations! Everybody here is so right about yorkies--it's hard to stop at just one!

When I was waiting to bring Mayzie home, I poured over name sites for hours! Actually, I did the same when we got our golden rets too. :rolleyes: My Mozes was rehomed to me. I was looking for a male to name Mozes with a "z" to go with Mayzie (not to breed) as it turned out Mo's name was originally Bo so the transition was not big deal. It was just meant to be! :D He was 3 when I got him. Mayzie's full name is:

Mayzie Grace Madoka Shadey. :rolleyes: Mo is still just Mo. I haven't come up with a middle name for him even though he is 5 now. :confused:

Oh you will love being a yorkie MOM.. here are some names.

Oliver, Max, Jackson, Levi, Barley, Baxter, Sniffles,, Dexter, "Nick ( since christmas is coming) or Clause. Noah . Ruddie. hope this helps:D

these are a few names we are considering; jax, toby(which i think i like the most), ruddie, oliver & braxton, what do yall think?

Aw, those are all cute names, and manly too! :-) If I had to pick, I'm with you - I like Toby a lot, and I think Oliver is right up there too. He'll grow into whatever name you give him, and you'll both love it.

I love the name Toby! I had a Toby, and he was the sweetest most loyal furbaby ever.

How about Mihijo...it is supposed to mean my son in spanish. I am not sure if that is the correct spelling tho.
