| Winter wear? Hi Everyone. We're new to the group.. we're glad to belong. We have a question. For those of you who live in cold, winter climates, just how far to you go in dressing your little ones in winterwear? We've got the sweaters but do I need to be concerned with bottomwear, legwear, footwear? Just how far do we go to keep our yorkies safely warm when going for a 20-yard walk to the mailbox, for a romp in the snowy backyard, or for constant in-and-out of the car trip? |

| I think it depends on what your dog will tolerate. My Yorkie won't wear cloths but seems to tolerate the cold fine for short periods of time. There are doggie PJs that cover them pretty well and the fleece ones are really warm. My hairless Chinese Crested wears those. Neither one will have any thing to do with having something on there feet. |

| I have a really cute winter coat for Zoe and honestly, I think she needs it! Now inside is a different matter. If I dress her in a dress or pj's, I don't think she necessarily needs it, I just like it! |

| I put on a sweater and a coat for Izze boo and try to keep her inside whenever possible... she doesn't like the cold.... and booties come off all of mine.

| Welcome to YT and Greetings to Ontario! Walker has some winter wear but he's no big fan of it. He runs and hides whenever I dress him up and pretends he can't move anymore. It's pretty funny. In reality, I don't think they need clothes for the occasional walk to the mailbox or playing in the snow. As long as it's not for hours on end. They're dogs and they have fur to protect them. Like I said, for SHORT periods of time. I always think: if it's too cold for me to spend a lot of time outside, it's too cold for the dogs. But, if your pooch enjoys his outfits, then by all means. Let him have fun with it!

| They do tolerate the cold for short periods better than we give them credit for. My two mostly go out in the backyard without coats and booties and chase each other around on bathroom breaks and it has been cold. I do use a coat sometimes mainly for long walks.
