Suzi wss nabbed this evening :( It happened in a blink of an eye , and I knew who had her, the problem was they were not giving her back, i felt helpless, in shock, and just froze. I took for for a walk this evening, and she went through the bottom of an iron gate fence which was an apartment complex accross the street from where i live. I tried getting her back through the fence, but, she got scared , and pulled hard enough to slip out of her harness and leash. Oh Geez, she ran towards the apartment complex where their were stairs and 2 apartments. i thought she was hiding by the bottom of the stairs , but could not see her, and would of had to run all around the front of the complex to get into the side of the complex. Only problem was that i just had surgery and can't go fast  I saw two young girls walking by in the complex and told them to please get my dog, she got loose and ran over there. the kids were great, but when they looked Suzi was gone. OMG , they even checked behing the corner, and it is a dead end, she was not there. Well here i am standing there , looking into a window where i could see people in there, ANd I knew that she was in there. I saw them watching me as well, and tried to have the girls knock on the door, they wound not. I ddi not know what to do  I stood there frozen, and just knew they had her, and were watching me as well. It seems like an erternity, but, all of a sudden they let her out, and Suzi came running as fast as she could towards me. The girls were able to pick her up and hand her to me though the fence. Suzi was shaking all over violently. I saw those people pick up a small child and cirlce around their table, I am thinking the child became upset that their was a dog in the house, and they let her finally go. My Suzi just stopped shaking in my arms, and started kissing me . She knows who she belongs to, and I love her soooo much. What made me upst was the people kept her, for a few min. and probably would have if their child did not freak out. I felt so helpless and confused that those people who I could see inside their apartment, had my Suzi and would not give her back:eek: She is not microchipped, but has all her tags. It happened in an instant too, and it still has made me feel very upset. Knowing where she was, and not able to get to her:eek: They should have never even opened the door and took her in the first place. I have her safe and sound, and learned an important lesson. My Suzi is so much a part of my world that if i'd lost her for longer then that I would have had a breakdown. :( |
ohh no im so glad u got her back! i would have sat outside their door all night |
I am so glad this story had a happy ending. :) My childhood Yorkie was almost nabbed a few times and I know how awful it feels to be so helpless and scared that you may never see your baby again. The first time I was 8 and Kiwi and I were going to through the hallway where my mom works and she was following me...this lady waiting for the elevator stopped me and said she loved my dog and asked what kind was she and what was her name, etc...and I told her and then she got into the elevator and we went to leave and she started calling 'Kiwi Come' and Kiwi was such a good listener she almost went...I had to bend down and snatch her up. I ran back to my mom and told her. Oy! Then when she was a lot older she wandered away into the park next to our house and we looked everywhere for her. It was morning and it wasn't until 8pm that someone called. They had found her early in the morning (right after she wandered off) and didn't call til 8! Her daughter wanted to keep her and she almost gave in. Even though she had a tag with our number on it! The nerve. Thank goodness her conscious got the better of her and she called us. Anyway...soo happy you found her and they released her. I hope they weren't being evil and they just let her in to protect her and then once they saw you were looking for her they let her go. It sounds suspicious though because they didn't come out and give her to you. :D Yay...you have your baby!!! |
Thank goodness you got her back....it sounded pretty scary for little Suzi & you. Please don't go walking by that place again!! :) They are lucky you didn't call the cops on them! |
I'm so releived to hear a happy end to that story...but the nerve of those people!!! I agree with the other posters - they're lucky you didnt call the police. I would have sat outside their house all night too and shouted and shouted at the top of my lungs so that the whole neighbourhood would know they were thieves. |
OMG I'm so sorry that happened to you I would have pounded down their door...threatening to call the POLICE if they didn't let her go!!!! You poor thing...thank Goodness you got her back!!!! |
WOW! How scary! I'm sooo glad you got your baby back! This is why I have all of my dogs chipped and they were all done as puppies with NO anesthetic and none of them so much as flinched. Don't forget the needle only pierces the skin and the scruff of the neck is NOT a very sensitive area in dogs. Tags can be removed. Please consider getting Suzi chipped at least then if something like this were to happen again you can prove she is your dog and have the people responsible prosecuted. |
Thank god you got her back. Just can't understand people, how could you take someones dog like that:eek: With small dogs I guess we all have to be careful even hubby locks the car doors when we go in a store. It's only for a short time but people will steal anything:mad::mad: You now have even more to be thankful for this thanksgiving |
What a great relief for you to get Suzy back. Thank Goodness!! :) I would have camped on their doorstep until I got my girl back - if there was only one way out of that apartment they would have had to climb over my tent to leave. I don't understand people sometimes! |
OMG. I am so glad that you got her back. It had to been horrible to go through. I don't understand how people can just not do the right thing. Very sad. Hold on to little Suzi and kiss her lots. |
OMG, Talk about a heartpounding story, I was so afraid to keep reading, but Thankfully it all worked out. |
oh my gosh how scary! What a relief you got her back! Unbelievable that people would think that quickly about taking and keeping her. In another second I would have been on the phone to the police! Thank goodness it ended well! |
That is very scary. I am so glad you got your little girl back. |
Ooo lord I can't even imagine. |
I'm really glad you got her back. Are you sure they were actually "nabbing" her though? I have found 3-4 dogs roaming the streets before and always took them into my home temporarily while I look for a collar and ID or decide whether to drop the dog off at the animal shelter (so its owners could find it). The little girl probably told them you were outside so they put the dog back out. They probably didn't mean any harm. :) That would scare the daylights out of me if my dog ran off like that. I would be afraid she'd be attacked or hit by a car. :animal-pa |
