i want to talk about happy things! can we talk about happy things please?

My aunt, cousin and her friend and I went shopping for Project Graduation tonight. We had to buy $10 tickets at the mall (the money for the tickets all went to the school for graduation $$), and then we had 3 hours to shop with FANTASTIC sales (I'm talking 25%+ off of items that were alreayd 40% off...quite awesome) and I finished all of my Christmas shopping...and got myself new PJs and some slippers along the way.

I'm quite a happy camper.

Mahinas pretty good with the brush (well comb, she FREAKED when I used the slicker brush on her) but she will still bite it cuz she thinks I'm playing with her. Silly girl.

I really need to do the treat thing with her. I need to find some different treats, cuz I'm changing her food right now...

well, beating it up makes them like the object better though, so in the future they won't resist it as much because they associate it with something fun and positive.

yes, treats are the secret. i bought milu so many different kinds of treats. (i think currently she has 8 different kinds of treatsi have to get that many kinds because she is very picky and gets tired of the same treats...what a brat!!!)

anyways, for a while, i would wear the treat bag with me everyday. and milu is a lot better dog on those days! i need to start wearing a treat bag with me everyday again!

lol, that's funny! well, i would be happy i guess if someone told me that i looked like milu because i think that she is just the cutest doll ever! but no one's ever said anything like that to me yet. the best i've got was "cute dog, and cute owner too."

wow. that is a fantastic sale! and way to go on finishing your christmas shopping already, you are on top of it!
me, not so much, lol. (i haven't even gotten ANYTHING yet, well, that's not true, i've been shopping for milu online for the past few days, so, milu has a lot of xmas presents, but i haven't done any shopping for family members without fur!)

I've been working on a new trick with Triss this week and I think she's finally getting it! I have a cloth pouch I put treats in. I'm trying to get her to bring me the pouch when I throw it. (Kind of a prelude to 'fetch')

At first, I had to get her to associate the bag with treats. Then she started pushing it towards me. And finally she picks it up and drops it in front of me. YAY!

i always thought it is so strange that milu doesn't know how to fetch. but after talking to more and more yorkie owners, i guess it's not that uncommon for yorkies to not do the 'fetch' thing naturally.

you will have to let us know when your baby masters fetching!

I read you guys talking about fetching. It took Mahina almost 2-3weeks to figure out the fetching! I just thought it was something all dogs knew how to do! LOL
I spent those 2-3 weeks getting up and getting the toys myself... or she would get them and run away (like she didnt want to share ) Now when I throw the toy I say "Go get it!" sometimes she'll ditch me for her toy and I have to tell her "Bring it!". She won't drop it in front of me.... she likes to make me work for it by playing some tug of war, then she'll let go and wait for me to throw it. LOL, I guess I'm the one who's well trained.

Suzi loves to fetch She figured out the game on her own, and i was surprized at just how fast she picked it up. She plays the game inside with us, but i have not tried it outdoors.

I havn't tried it outdoors yet either. I don't know if it would work as well. She'd probably see the toy I threw and be like "Yeah right Mom, I'm busy smelling everything! Fetch the toy yourself!" LOL.

it is actually very good for the dog's neck if you play tug of war with them. i had two people told me that yorkies need to have their neck exercised by playing tug of war with them, otherwise they will have weak necks. i was told that yorkies have long necks.

Hmmm I've never heard of that.... she doesn't seem to have a long neck, but it could disguised by all that hair.

suzi is so smart! milu doesn't get it, i always have to go get the ball. it's ok though, i bought like 12 balls, so i can batch process.
