Yorkies with a tail 2 Attachment(s) Hi all, My wife just seen in Womans world a little Yorkie that what looks like a full length tail. what type of Yorkie is this, or would this be a mix of some sort. The picture on the right is our Sadie, Waiting to see if someone will feed her dinner at the table, not on the floor, She's a little stinker, but you can only love them more. Thanks. |
still a yorkie :) some don't get their tails docked- for various reasons- their birth weight may have been too small to go through the docking- some yorkies from Europe have full tails because i think it might be agaist the law there (correct me if i am wrong someone) or just preference. I'm sure if you contacted a breeder before the litter was born and wanted a full tail they would. |
It's simply a yorkie with an undocked tail. The practice itself is banned in Europe...so all yorkies there have their tails. Cute picture of Sadie... |
I live in Germany and it's illegal to do ears and tails, so walker has an uncut tail. The Doberman next door has big floppy ears and a full tail. :D |
Both my girls have a full tail and they are both 101% Yorkie, (extra 1% for the tail ;)). It is illegal now to dock tails on any breed of dog in Europe, (you were right Marci), unless it is for medical reason and performed by a vet. |
fan tail :) my poppy has a full tail  and it is gorgeous it is just like a fan :aimeeyork and looks lovely when she is wagging it why cut them off ? :animal-pa love jill n poppy xx |
1 Attachment(s) As others have already said, tail docking is illegal here (England), so Twinkle has a full tail. I think yorkies look cute either way:D I've attached a pic - its not a great one, but you get the idea xx xx |
Some fun german babies complete with tails. Click on the header or go down and click the links. Watch those tails wag. Of all Reggie's "parts"...I love his tail the best. :) http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...s-playing.html |
Your Sadie is so precious :) Izze has a "bunny tail" |
The Biewers keep their tails as they originate in Germany. |
Too cute!!! I just love the look of them with their tails :) |
I love Milo's little stub of a tail, especially when it is wagging. But, I do love Yorkies with tails too and sometimes I wish he had his so I could really see it wag. |
I love the full tails!! My girl had her tail severed in an accident before she was rescued, so it looks 1/2 docked - its an adorable little wagger, but I do love a full tail! |
Count me in too ~ Love seeing them waggin' |
1 Attachment(s) my furbut daisy has her tail, i rescued her from a back yard breeder who couldn't care less and got evicted and left her to starve (she was the only pup in the litter...tells ya how healthy mom was) she's in good hands now :-) ... who cares if akc says standard yorkies don't have tails... mine does and she's perfect! :D |
I love the full tails too. Both ways are equally as cute! |

it just sickens me how some people want the "perfect looking dog" when in reality, many GREAT dogs are homeless or in shelters. docking tails is over rated... yorkies were started in england.. it's illegal to dock tails there... why is it legal here? |
My Ivy has her tail too, (puppy mills don't care about things like that as long as they keep on having babies:() Only hear in the US people ask you what kind of dog you have. |
I have 2 with 3/4 tail. looks like a full tail but doesn't curl over. I wanted it that way and I think it is absolutely adorable. I like the cropped tail also if it done right. |
My Mufasa has his full tail and I love it!!!! Of course I'd love him if his tail was docked too but that wasn't the question. hahahahaha |
My Yorkie has a docked tail.... actually I think it was done too short & wish she had a bit more. But, my Morkie has full tail which is very appropriate for her as she looks more Maltese (except brown). The full tail is so fun and expressive, I find myself watching it all the time to understand what is on her mind. |

someone said something about the ears? do they do anything with yorkie's ears? also, i have a question about yorkies who have their full tail. does it curl, or does it stick straight out? or it happens both ways, just depends on the dog? |
Two of mine have docked tails and my little one has a full tail. They are all cute. The docked tail is so cute when they wag it and the little ones tail is sooo cute when she wags it, it is almost longer than she is.:yelrotflm :aimeeyork COCO :aimeeyork PEBBLES :aimeeyork TRIXIE |
I think they are both cute. |
I think they are cute weather they have a tail or docked tails! My boyfriends yorkie, Pepsi, does not have her tail docked, and she is beautiful!!!!! |

My little furbaby Gidget has her tail. My neighbors bred here and I held her the day she was born. When it was time to have her tail docked I couldn't stand the thought so since I knew I was never going to use her as a show dog, I told my neighbors not to do it. I love her long tail that curls up. In fact after we moved, she was lost for a day and one of the ways we found her so quickly was because of her cute tail. That tail made her very identifiable in our neighborhood. |
