shhh don't tell DH but I had the best date the other night!! :D:D I took Boo out on a date the other night and we had so much fun!! He has seemed a little sad lately and with 2 puppies under 1 year of age in the house I thought maybe he felt a little left out. So I came home from work and quickly changed clothes, whispered in his ear while brushing his hair "Want to go bye-bye?" and got a big sloppy kiss as an answer. Put Yogi in his ex-pen, put up the doggie gate to keep Gracie in the kitchen, put Boo's harness on and out the door we went. The look on Gracie's face made me think I'd come home to quite a mess as she seemed very upset that it wasn't her going out the door with me. Hooked Boo into his car seat and told him we were going on a date tonight, just him and me. He started his usual "Are we there yet?" whine before we even got out of the driveway. I stopped the car and looked back at him and said, "This is our special time, Boo, and you really need to man-up and be a good date and not whine the whole time, ok?" It was pretty much the last whine I heard out of him. Very un-Boo like, because he's all about the destination, not the journey. We went to Petsmart and he was soooo good!!! He didn't pull, walked right beside me, and was the perfect gentleman the entire time. We walked up and down every aisle, stopped and sniffed everything, made a couple of new friends, stopped and looked at the birds, rats and fish, tried on some of the holiday items - had a good laugh with the reindeer antlers. We stayed for 45-50 minutes. Then stopped at Wendy's on the way home and split a cheeseburger. Cause after all, it's not a real date if you don't do dinner too, right? My DH called as we were almost home asking where we were. Said he came home and found Gracie in a snit, Yogi in his pen and no Boo or me. I laughed and told him I was on a date...with Boo...and would be home in just a few minutes. He laughed and called me silly and said he wanted to hear all about it when we got home. Gracie wouldn't hardly talk to me all the rest of the night, but Boo sure has had his Happy Face :animal36 back since then. I think we'll have to do Date Night more often. |
How adorable!!!!!!! |
That is so funny. They can make us suffer for any wrong they believe we have imposed upon them! Is Boo happy now? Maybe you can set a regular date night. |
Awwww how sweet! What a lucky boy he is to have such a great mommy! |
That sounds like a fabulous date! I think beginning a regular date night would be a great idea. :) |
That is wonderful! I am happy you both had such a nice time! |
Awe how sweet! |
Aww that was very sweet. I think I am going to take my Tanjhei on a girls nite out, she has been upset that Febi has been getting alot of lap time. Thank you. |
Awwww that is the sweetest thing i've read! Thats one thing that's important when you have more than one, is time alone with each. |
That sounds like a great idea! What a special date! |
SO SO Cute....I love the date nite and I felt like I was there too! I think he loved his date! Awwwwwww |
Wow, that sounded like it was lots of fun! Super sweet! :) |
That is quite possible the sweetest thing EVER! You deserve a husband date because of it! I'm so glad he enjoyed it and your other puppies will love you anyway. |
That is so sweet!! Aren't they like little kids most of the time. I have had for 7 years a part boxer, Ginger & for 71/2 months a stray "?", Bubby. Bubby was supposed to be a house dog, but he hates being inside & is now an outside dog that sleeps in the garage to keep from freezing. My Ginger gives me these looks all the time when I pay attention to Bubby. She will push my hand from Bubby onto herself when I pet him. I am about to get a Yorkie for the house, and she is not going to like that either. It's so funny.:animal36 |
Awww, that is totally adorable! How cute are you?! ;) Great idea too, I might try that with my older girl, Ellie, soon. A girlie outing or something... Jess :heart to |

Super cute date! Thanks for sharing  |
Sounds like a fun time! I have had intentions on doing the same with each of my babes but just haven't done it. You inspire me! :p I took them both to my local petvalu a couple of weeks ago and it would so much more enjoyable with just one! Thanks for sharing your date night with us! |
Hehehe, that's a cute story. I'm glad he had a good time. :) |
I had just come to this same conclusion of girls night out this week. I have an 18 month old girl and have started fostering Yorkies about 3 months ago. She has been very put out and constantly punishing the fosters if they get too much mommy time. Especially when I take the fosters to adoption events. She gets in quite a snit over that. I decided Sunday that we needed a mommy & me day out once a week so that she knows she has my love and can afford to share. It sounds like you two had a great time and I am now really looking forward to our girls night out. thanks for sharing. |
That sounds fun! I had a nice date night with my Jake one night while my hubby was fishing. We went for a walk, then to PetSmart. Then, I stopped at one of those drive-up restaurants where they bring your food out to you, and you eat in the car. While I ate my burger, Jake enjoyed some little snacks I brought along for him. I had a great time!:) |
