Help! Computer challenged :(

Now that I'm a donating member (which I recommend to anyone who enjoys this site - I have been helped through my Bella's first pregnancy and delivery by so many wonderful people! - that alone made the donation worth it!) - at any rate, since I donated, I guess I can change my avatar to one of those moving ones - that is, if I knew how to do it . I also clicked on "customize profile" and everything on their looked Chinese to me!!! Can anyone direct me to somewhere that I can get some help for the computer challenged??? I have such great pictures of Bella's little puppies in their new homes and I sure would like to use them. Thanks a million!!!

Actually, a donating member can have a larger avatar, but anyone can have a moving avatar. The moving avatar is a series of pictures grouped together in one file, called an animated gif. You need a software program to do this, and Photoscape makes a free program. There are instruction on this thread on creating your own avatar, and a link to Photoscape. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ng-avatar.html. If your not the type that likes to do things themselves, one of our members, Peanut, has a thread, and will make an avatar for you. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/tes...vatars-51.html, just post the pictures you would like to use.

Lol, I know I should, but it "bugs" so many people, I'm gonna keep it up for a while.

ladylawinkc here's an example of what you can do with the photoscape program. Click on it to see it move, I made this real fast out of some pictures from your album, but you can add a "title page" or lettering and different frames and borders, to made your unique. It's fun to make your own especially if you like to change them often, or to insert a holiday picture.

How sweet of you, but I'm trying to "tempt" her to try the program, not to make her an avatar. You know the Chinese proverb, " Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. NANCY, YOU ARE THE BOMB!!!! Incredible - I can't believe you took the time to do that!!! I love it! Okay, now I can already hear you laughing when I ask this question - what is the "photoscape" program? My daughter is coming home from college for the holidays and I always chain her to my computer when I need something, so if I can't do it, I know she can. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

This definitely sounds like something I'll have to have my daughter do when she gets home!!!! It sounds very cool, though - I really appreciate all of your help....

On that note, perhaps I'll go out and clean out the stalls - - you'd really be impressed if you could see how well I can do that. . .I promise, though, I'll give it a shot - - of course, right about now, swinging from the rafters in my barn sounds more inviting!!!!

People seem to think I have all this computer knowledge, but everything I know I learned here at Yorkietalk. I just learned the word "emoticons" a few weeks ago. And yes, I am impressed that you can change the font!

I actually got to impress you for a change I guess it's a little obvious that I'm putting off going out in the 35 degree weather to clean the stalls . If you learned everything on this site, I'd just better pull an all-nighter some time so I can try to figure a few things out myself and quit bothering you!!! Of course, that doesn't mean you won't hear from me again whining about something else - just didn't want you to think - "Whew, I won't have to hear from that serial questioner anymore!"
