| New Here - Question On Color?? We just got our first Yorkie, his name is undecided but he is 9 weeks, tiny, furry and adorable! Can anyone tell me how to know what color he will turn, is there any way to tell or you just take it day by day? Right now he is Black and Tan, he hardly has any Black Hair in his tan and doesn't have any white or silver color.. will his coat turn silver, his face turn silver or will he stay black.. is it possible that either could happen..? It really doesn't matter much to me .. I am just curious to know if you have before and after Yorkie photos of your own baby can you post them so I can see how they turn out when they are older as opposed to when they were pups? I think that would be fun to see... Thanks to everyone in advance! Last edited by annamalyssa; 11-13-2008 at 01:39 PM. Reason: add picture attachment |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | At this age...your only guess would be the coloring of the parents. Usually their heads break color first...and their backs start around 6 months or so. It can take up to 3 years for them to change completely. Here's Ramsey as a puppy And now http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/pic...ictureid=21340 For whatever reason...I can't get the pic from my album to upload to show without a link...

| Thanks to everyone who replied .. you all have beautiful babies!! I am very curious as to what his coloring will be... so I'd love to see more pics if anyone else has any. The only thing I notice is he's darker tan with NO BLACK hairs in the tan at all except on his feet they are mingled with some black hair and his coat is really light and fluffy but shiny, what type of coat would this be? (cotton, wooly, silky?) Sorry If I am asking a lot I am just trying to learn as much as I can about my baby! |

| It's so much fun to watch them change. Clarence was dark all over but now he has a straberry blond head & his body is charcoal but as his har get longer it looks more grey. Keegan was very black when he was a babe, now he's mostly red with a little dark undertone. |
