OMG!!!! Somethings Wrong..... Well my darling little girl gave birth to 4 new babies on October 31. I have a male yorkie and a female yorkie. They are both identical in color. Black and Brown.. Well three of the babies came out with the typical color: Mostly black with brown feet, ears around the mouth. But stangely enough one came out mostly brown, i mean damn near red. Whats wrong. I read up on it a little and saw that in rare cases you end up with a "red Yorkie". Something about the cross gene? But it also said that although they are rare they do not hold up to standards of being registered.. Is this true? Has this ever happened to anyone.. Im really concerned... By the way my babies will be looking for new homes and will be ready for Xmas gifts. I thought this was very special..

I am not a breeder and cannot address your concerns. I just wanted to say that I hope all your puppies are heathy, including the chocolate/red one.

| Does it have a liver colored nose? If so it is a chocolate. They dont meet the standard but are cute. I dont think they can be registered akc

I'm no breeder so I can't help too much but the only thing that comes to my mind is that one of the grandparents were a cross breed perhaps?

From my experience..if it's a goldish brown overlay, pup will have a deep gold color.

Sounds like either a chocolate or golden. A picture would be helpful to determine which color. Both chocolate's and goldens can be AKC regsitered.
