How smart is your baby!! I'm cracking up reading these stories! |
Rory does this too! We make a big production of using her pad especially since we had a regression just after her first birthday (I think it had to do with my sister's dog coming to stay with us for an extended period of time). Anyways, she squats, and we immediately jump up with the "Good girl, Rory, good girl!" She stands up and low and behold there is nothing on the pad. Little stinker! Luckily, she'll stand up before she gets her treat for the fake potty, and we can "bust" her. If she does use her pad and it just so happens that we don't see it, she will run over to us and bark and run back to her pad. It's almost like she is saying "SEE! See what a good girl I am! Give me my treat you neglectful parents." I think these yorkies are too smart for their own good! :aimeeyork |
Fakers Molly does that all the time ... We now call them drive bys*LOL* She goes over to her UGO and just runs a crossed it then does what we call her pee pee dance... They are smart I'll give them that *LOL* |
I was lucky when potty training Lola, I never had to give her treats, but she still fake pees. It's like she wants to mark her territory or something! It's hilarious. Sometimes she pretends when it's cold because she wants to get back inside, but she still does it even when it's nice. Right on the sidewalk and I can see that nothing came out. Our little angels are so funny :) |
ted does this all the time and sits in front of me until i give him a treat! lol |
I like to think I've solved the problem. We had a nice little talk about not lying to mommy:). and now he only gets a treat for the first squat the others i just praise praise praise him! that way i don't have to crawl around after him looking for the real pee:rolleyes: |
I am actually wondering.. How many times does your Yorkie pees in a day?? I use pee pads, and Mocha is 8 months old now. I know when they are about 1 year old dogs only pee once or twice a day, but Mocha is still peeing like 10 times a day!! Thank God it's been weeks since the last accident.. I was thinking I cannot live with accidents much longer LOL. |
Well let me see...haha. We pee outside just for personal preference. Walker is 3 months and we still have accidents:rolleyes: sigh. But they aren't full puddles any more, they're mostly little "opps my bad mommy" piddles. We go out every hour-hour and a half and he pees probably oh i dunno 10-12 of those times. the rest are usually just little 10 minute walks. We end up spending A LOT of time outside throughout the day. |
just posted that got up and found a puddle and a little poop pile. with a very proud walker standing by. sigh. ok time to go outside anyway. haha |
HAHA i had a giggle when i read this! April's never done that, maybe it's because she only gets verbal praises. =P |
I find Wizzy pees a lot too ..I was hoping this would subside a bit when he was neutered and when he got a little older . He is just over 6 months now and still a work in progress . |
I'd settle for 10 times per day. I think Gus is almost down to that now at 1 year old. The breakthrough came after I stopped letting him pickup and chew things like wood chips, and other tree droppings, etc. off the ground. A UTI didn't help either, but he still urinated a lot after the infection cleared up. |
We only had to fight over one piece of tissue during walks today. Usually it'll be stones, fallen fruits, stones, some trash, stones, stones, stones.... |
I should have mentioned that I'm connecting eating things off the ground with creating thirst, then drinking water, & then urinating. I also think that some of Gus' permitted chew things, particularly Bully Sticks, trigger thirst. |
