Who is your yorkie more attached to? I was just wondering if your yorkies favor you or someone else in the family more? Stormy favors me over everyone else, she picks me over anybody and seems to only get excited when I come home. She could careless if my fiance came home or anyone else. She has been going through alot lately so I know she is probably a little more sensitive and wants only mommy but I need some help because I work 4-5 days aweek and I am gone from 8am til 4pm. She doesn't seem to want to play or interact with anyone while I'm away. I am just worried for her because I don't want her to be depressed while I'm away. As soon as I am home she is all over me. But I do have to say that she really does enjoy laying in her bed relaxing. Should I be worried? What can I do to encourage her to go to my fiance more. I also should add that she is a bit scared of men so that makes it a little more difficult, it is frustrating my fiance alittle because he would like her to come to him and he doesn't want to force her. |
Have your fiance participate more in her care. Like feeding her, walking her, bathing her, etc.. She will come around. You've only had her for a few weeks, right?\ My Abby is most attached to me, but Daisy LOVES my son! He's 20 yrs old and she is just crazy about him. She does prefer for me to take her out to potty and when I lay down, she goes straight to bed with me. I think my son is "the fun guy", but she loves and needs her Mama :D |
Me, for sure. For a while there, Brayli would only take commands from me. haha. My bf at the time got really frustrated because she wouldn't do ANYTHING for him. |
yeah we've only had her a few weeks but it already feels like forever. I have had him bathe her and he does try to feed her treats and such but she doesn't really want to eat from him. I have to convince him that its okay for men to walk yorkies still though lol. Any suggestions for fun toys? She doesn't seem to play at all, I try to play with her a bit but she doesn't seem very interested in playing too much, shes 1.5 years old so I know she has to still have a little puppy in there!! |
All four of my monsters favor me over Daddy but when he has the ball Adie thinks he is king! I have to laugh though because she keeps bringing the ball to me trying to ge to play with her instead. Skeeter is such a cuddle bug he loves his Mommy best. Of course we have stairs leading to the couch and he can get to me whenever he wants to. He isn't a jumper like Adie and can't get in Daddy's lap cause Daddy is in the big old recliner. Adie likes to sleep on the footrest when Daddy is reclined. Everyone wants to pile on me for sleep. And if they are hurt or scared they would run past Daddy and go another mile if it meant getting to me. |
I am the primary care giver, i.e., food, walks, & play. Gus is totally my dog. Strangely, Squirt is mine during the day, and my teenage niece's Yorkie at night. He will actually growl and snap at me, if I approach him, in the evening, during the night, & first thing in the morning. If he needs a walk, at these latter times, my niece has to leash him up. |
Chachi is to my Husband and Jewels to me even though they are both affecionate to us both |
meeeeeeee all the way.. i feed her , walk her , bathe her. play with her, give her treats, pet her, comb her, wipe her butt.. she knows who takes care of her.. |

OH its me without a doubt!!!!!I have 4 dogs, my yorkie 2 bichons and a golden retreiver,,,,and they ALL flock to me,,,,I really believe that they sence something in us....and they just know who the true "dog people" are...and even if the whole household loves dogs, I think they are gonna lean more to whoever takes care of them the most. |

Mia LOVES her daddy!!!!! Don't get me wrong, she loves me just as much, and gets excited when I get home just as much... but is ALWAYS cuddling up to him, always on his lap. Of course, I'm the one that brushes her, gives her baths...etc. If he's not home, she's right on my lap. :) Honestly.. the one person she gets the most excited to see is her grampa (BF's dad). Its hilarious!! |
Izze is affectionate towards my mom and myself---but she prefers my mom. According to her, my mom hung the moon. She follows her everywhere. But when my mom is not home, she follows me around and gets along just fine. I would probably have your bf spend more quality time with your baby... go for walks, play, feed...etc. |

Sadie is my lil' girl. She follows me around. Although my two boys come in a close second! She loves playing with them!! She likes my husband but he doesnt care for her as much as I do but she will lay on him on the couch. |
Definitely me! I feed her, bathe her, brush her, take her outside for potty/play and put her in her crate for bedtime. DH says he comes home from work (2 hours before me) and tries to let olivia come out of her crate to go potty, but she comes out, looks around for me and then goes straight back into her crate without even going outside! :confused: |
me definitely! I do all the things that has to be done for them so they always flock to me. The only time they dont flock to me is when i say...who wants a bathe....then they run to hubby:D |
Me! and my youngest daughter. Gabby and Shadow both will go crazy over her. She'll be 4 on the 10th of Nov and they love her to pieces. When we come in, they run to me and her. Then Gabby sticks with her and Shadow with me. When I get up in the mornings, Shadow runs right to her door wanting her up. lol She says Dabby (Which is what she's always called Gabby) is her dog and Shadow is mine. I think she'd duke it out over her Dabby. lol |
Sophie is most attached to me. If me and my bf walk thru the door at the same time she runs to me and is all over me lol She is always by my side. I think Teddy is really attached to me but he loves my bf just as well and London is attached to me and my bf the same. I suggest telling your fiance to walk Stormy and feed her so they can bond better. |

Bailey is all about her mommy. She gets very excited when DH comes home, but after that, it's back to me. She's my little shadow, if I make a move, she's right along beside me. When my DH gets up in the mornings, Bailey will try to heel him. It is sooo cute. |
Twinkle prefers me to my hubby...probably because I'm here with her all day and am the one who looks after her. But the true object of her affection is my youngest daughter, Lucia, who is one year old. She follows her EVERYWHERE! she hates it when the baby goes for a nap and whines at the bottom of the stairs for her (we dont allow her upstairs yet as she's not totally house-trained) and she brings a toy and lays beside her while she's playing. It's sooo cute...we've started calling them the twins:D xxx xxx |

Fiona loves, loves, loves my boyfriend Brian- Mainly because he doesn't do the dirty work with her!!!!! I get mad cuz she will be all over him, but I have to say she listens to me to a tee, and not him! so it sorta works out! when he is at work on friday and saturday nights she is GLUED to me! She gets annoyed with me since im the one that cuts her nails, gives her baths, brushes her, all that, but she listens to me so well, and does fine with me! its cute!!!! |
They both love us dearly and vice versa. But, Wylie is a total Daddy's boy, and Marcel is a total Mama's boy...so it all works out. :p |
I am the main recipient of their love, attention and affection. But they are both such love bugs that they do love on everyone else. I think hubby is second in line for the attention and love.....but the world revolves around me :p When I am home they are wherever I am. |
