How does anyone have the energy for more than 1 furbutt? Can someone tell me how they have the energy for more than 1 furbutt? Chloe is a full-time job. Raising her and my daughter and husband wears me out! If I ask my husband or daughter to take her out, they get mad. I'm here all day long and take her out all day and night. Anyone out there that has more then 1 furbutt then you get an extra cookie!!!!! |
I've been wanting a second but I'm scared I won't have the energy to keep up w/both! But then I wonder if the new baby will keep Maximus busy playing, and I will have less things to do to keep him busy...or will I be having to keep 2 of them busy...lol...I really want another one! :) |
LOL I have 4 and some days it is pretty overwhelming. Like you I am home and husband and daughter (23) do not help out. When I just had the 3 they were pretty laid back, then I got Roxie my now 13 month old and she is constantly in to things and tusseling with the others. You can just see her getting that bored look and then she goes looking for trouble!!! I love them all but I am definately at my limit. |
I think its like children..after the first one, it gets a bit easier with second because now the first one isn't needing as much one on one attention. They keep each other company. In the end..they can still be a handful! My three feel the need to be my shadow...all day. I get up, they get up. |

Chloe barks if I'm doing laundry or cooking or whatever I'm doing. If barking doesn't work, then she starts crying. Such a little baby! That usually does it. I stop what I'm doing and pick her up and give her tons and tons of kisses. I have a large computer hutch and a desk that's hooked on the hutch and she lays in her pink little bed on the desk so I can kiss her while she lays there. She is so spoiled rotten. |
I have 4 and its not an easy job. But they are worth it!:D |
I don't even have and hubby or kids, and I'm a little embarrassed to say that sometimes get overwhelmed between furbies, fish, school, and work. (haha, in that order!) I used to think having a SO or kids meant that I'd have some more help, but it sounds like moms end up doing most, if not all the work. (except Mike. Hehe) I don't know how you all do it. btw, I'm nearly 30, so I'm definitely old enough to have a "grown up" life, but oh it seems hard! |
I dont really think two is much harder than one. My two would do everything together, on the same schedule. Now three is a different story, but maybe because my third one is a little busy bee. I do really love it, they are all so different with their personalities. They are just like kids, except they dont talk back. Oh and my third one is a climber too! I am constantly checking on her like a toddler. Ha Ha |

I really want to get a second one. Since my fall and back injury, I can't get on the ground and play with Aurora like I use to. She loves to play and she loves playing with other dogs. She always wants to play with Jasmine, but Jasmine wants no part of that. Jasmine is just finally warming up to Aurora. I think Aurora would adjust great to another puppy, but not so sure about Jasmine, but then I think maybe it will give Jasmine a break......or they will just team up on her LOL. I have some work to have completed on the house before I bring another puppy into the house, but I am really wanting another. I am now single and own my house, so I don't have to worry about having more than two pets like I did at the townhouse with my ex. Might sound weird but Aurora and Jasmine keep me company, they are my family. I have my mom and stuff close by, but I mean they are like my babies. I would love to expand my family and have one more baby. |
I have three furbutts.. One yorkie ( a newbie) and two jrt crosses and its the yorkie that wears me out!!. What with weeing overnight, sometimes on newspapers sometimes on the carpet and he follows ,me everywhere!!. I nearly trip over him.:) |
hehe i am sorry your husband and daughter does want to help out...maybe you should give then a taste of their own medicine..hehe...jk but i have 6 and still looking for me...hehe..i find that although its 6x the bath, feeding, vet care, money but energy wise...they tend to wear each other down...hehe... maybe you should think about getting another one...hehe..jk |
The last thing on my mind was "another puppy"!!lol I got an email this morning about a litter of "Maltese Puppies" that will be ready around Thanksgiving!! I had inquired about them before I got Lily!! Oh my....I have NO will power when it comes to temptations like this!! There are 2 females and a male?? She said "the females should go 5-6 pounds and the male probably 7 pounds"!! Lily loves to play with my mothers dog but I don't know how she would do with a puppy?? I am just getting her potty trained finally and don't think I want to start over right now with a new puppy but maybe when she is older I might get one more someday?? |
I'll let you know when my daughter brings the grandchild back for me to raise and takes off for Japan.:D |
I have four. For me, it is less work. They have each other to play with and they don't nag me as much to play with them when I'm busy (of course, I play with them everyday---but my then-only pup Molly used to bother me to play with her when I'd read or do house chores---now she has 3 buddies!) |
My husband wants to get rid of Chloe. She is my little baby now. I can't do it. I love her too much. I had a car wreck and broke my neck and have serious health problems and I still try to take care of her as much as possible. He takes her out maybe 2 times a day if that. I feed her, bathe her, take her to get groomed, vet appointments, etc....you get the picture. He is just jealous because she gets all the love and kisses. I rather get rid of him. Hee Hee |
No offence to anyone---but it really amazes me how unsuportive some of your children and husbands are when you are injured. When my mom was in an accident (I just turned 21 at the time), I took care of her by myself (with no help). I even gave up a year of school to help her get better. That is what I should have done and it boggles my mind that some of you don't have that support. They should help you---without complaining---when you need them. Especially with the little ones. My mom has always helps me out with my dogs---they are MY dogs---she does not owe me anything---but she does it. Where as children and husbands owe you everything. Sorry for the ramble, but you gals don't deserve this. |
Everything gets done once so it's not a big deal & they play together so they knock each other out. |
I agree with you. Because I'm not dead they think I should do everything. He complains when I ask him to rub my neck and shoulders for a total of 5 seconds. I will tell you something right now. I WILL NEVER GET MARRIED AGAIN NEVER! I will have fun with my yorkie and daughter. Sometimes, I think the only thing that loves me in my house is my yorkie. |
i think if she is still a puppy she will accept a new puppy better...but that is my opinion...i am still having a hell of time getting my 2 oldest female to except the 3 youngest...hehe |
I dont think having 2 is any harder than having 1 |
I have one yorkie and a 2 large mixed dogs....it's Daizy that keeps me hopping! But we're getting our second yorkie baby in 8 days!!! Daizy is so independant and friendly that I felt she needed someone her own size to play with...She's definately happier when she has playmates..although it will be a little while before Tulip can play with Daizy I think they'll be great friends!! She is way more needy by herself.... |
