Every time it gets colder, I make sure and keep Finnigan dressed warm because once its 60 or so he just starts shivering!!

Even with his warm clothes on I'll still find him like this as I'm getting ready for work in the mornings.

He just finds the nearest heat register and takes it over! This is him this morning... its not even winter, but he's loving that the heats on!

Yorkies are just smart babies :D Our Tucker runs and stands on the fireplace hearth every morning waiting for me to turn it on for him and the looks he gives if it doesn't get turned on are priceless ! :aimeeyork

You should get yourself a heated lap blanket... you both could keep warm while cuddling! I am always cold and couldn't make it through the winter without it!!!1

:Pawprint:Our little fur babies do not have an undercoat to keep them real warm.

We use heating blankets, heating wraps and heating pads as well as having lots of thick baby blankets, purchased at Target, WalMart or Marshall's.

Our CoCo loves being wrapped up like a baby in it. When she is warm enough is stretches out on the floor to cool off and then is fine for a while.

well bein in Florida it doesn't get THAT cold but it does get HOTTTT so Odie lays around the floor air vents when he needs to cool off

so he's the exact opposite =]

I've been thinking about a heated blanket, but its like his ideal temperature range is so small, he gets cold so easy and he seems to get too warm very easily while cuddling. I'm also worried about fire hazards with leaving a heating pad/blanket on while not home.

God bless him, he is the sweetest!!! You will have to let me keep him here in Charleston, SC during the winter months where our winter highs range from upper 50's to 60's with 70's not being unusual. We're having a "cold spell" this week highs in the low 60'!!!:)

Wow!! I'm wishing for 60 right now its 37!!!

Finnigan would love the warm weather!! But I wouldn't be able to leave him with you, I'd have to stay too!!!

Finnegan is too sweet. He knows what he wants. My dog likes the heat too. I tried to take her out yesterday, it was in the 50's and all she did was shake. I'm like that myself, so we fit together well. :) Just love him the way he is. I use wee wee pads in the winter.

my lilo loves the heat thats why when she sleeps shes like always in my arm pit haha..... or in the morning i take her out to pee and she'll go to the spot where the suns at and just sun bath its great hehe

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww hes sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute!!! Gracie hasnt done that yet... lol but Ive only had her since feb. so we will see... she didnt do it in feb. but whos to say she wont :rolleyes: but its cute... so I wont mind:D;)

I had an old cat who did that, I called him the heater hog. I get cold easy so I can relate, just keep him bundled up as best you can outside and let him have the floor vents. My little girl was shivering outside this morning too and it's warmed up alot the last few days.

Come on down!! You are both welcome here! I love Finnigan's name, I am getting a male puppy around Thanksgiving, I may have to change his name to Finnigan Jr.! As far as the temperature, trust me we pay the price in the Summer...100+ heat index!!! :eek:

I've been toying with the idea of using a pee pad or doggie litter box because he doesn't want to go outside at all, he's been holding it and I feel so bad for him!!!! I'm also thinking of getting a female soon, and didn't know how the potty training would go during winter. Just haven't decided the best way to go. We started Finnigan on pee pad's and one day he just decided he didn't need them any more. I should probably start a different thread on this subject... I'm just a rambling... haha:animal-pa
