| Who says dogs aren't "self-aware"? Not ME! I had to call Bella in this morning ... she was out WAY too long. She came in and hunkered down alongside the couch. Now, I'm fixing breakfast ... this is not normal. The next time I looked, she was backed into the corner in the hallway, head and ears down. DEFINITELY not normal. Picked her up, and YEP! POOPY BUTT! She knew she wasn't up to snuff! After I cleaned her up, dried her off and put her back on the floor, she spun in circles, barking. She was happy again. Once upon a time, my hubby shaved our GSD down to his skin, except for his head and tail. He KNEW he was funny looking! He'd hide his body along the wall, and only stick his head around the corner to bark at the door when someone knocked ... he KNEW. The way they prance when they come home from the groomer ... they KNOW they're lookin' *fine*! How can some people - with *conviction*! - state that dogs have no self-image? |

| That's so funny. Pasquale does the same thing. When he knows he didnt have a clean "exit", he does this weird dance.

| Mine do the same thing! Rebel will walk with his head and tail down, and creep along the floor - but as soon as he's cleaned up - he's back to being my little wild man!

| Tetley is totally ashamed when he ends up with poopy butt. Once when my husband was walking him in the park he had a messy doo and then refused to walk home! He just wanted to cower in the grass in his embarassment. Hubby had to carry him home and clean him up then he was dancing around to go back out. |

| LOL. Mine will do the same thing. He looks at me with an "uh-oh" face and does the dance. I hate it when "something" is hanging back there as much as he does .

| Its funny because we just went through this with Chachi Friday night. He had poo stuck on him and he was hiding. I washed it off of him and then he was fine
