Help have a 3 month yorkie, He weighs a hair over a pond and has floppy ears, what can I do, |
Maybe someone knows of a link to a site for shaving yorkie ears properly? I dont want Princess to look like a dork when I am done butchering her. I still have nightmares over my skin daughters kindergarten pictures after i just "touched up" her bangs the night before. Not to mention tweezing half her eyebrow off in the seventh grade. Poor kid. I will never be allowed near my grandkids.:( |
Tiki's ears will stand straight up when she wants something or we ask her something, like : Tiki, do you want to ......pause....ears straight up...go bye bye? I have one picture of her when she had her first real haircut (she looked like a mini Doberman) and she had one ear up and one ear down. Sometimes when she has them up, she moves them back and forth and sideways - like she is trying to make sure she doesn't miss a sound. I call her "Stitch" then because she reminds me of Stitch from Lilo and Stitch. We love her no matter how her ears go. She is just plain cute. :) Myrna |
About the ears drooping... My sweet Cali girl is 2 months and one of hers is drooping..you guys think I should just leave it for now? I felt her gums and I know for sure she is cutting teeth...she loves to gnaw on my finger. I'm not sure about how to tape the ears...do you know of an intructional website? she's doing well with every thing else. She already potties while on the leash. I'm worried about the ear thing tho. Any help or advice would help. Thanks so much-- I LUV MY YORKIE |
It's really simple. I used painters tape. Just fold the ear in half like a V and wrap it loosely but tight enough. It took one day for Jimmys ear to stand back up. Here is a video too |
Wow, thanks for that video. Simple as can be!! I think I will wait a bit to do it, as she is so darn sweet and cute with them floppy. She does stand them up and rotate them when she is listening to me. I can't believe how simple and pain free it looks. Much appreciation!! |
1 Attachment(s) No problem. :) He just bugged with it for a minute. I put the tape on a little crooked (wasn't a perfect fold) so his ear looked funny for a couple days, hah. But it all worked itself out. Here is a pic of him with the tape on. Only took a day! |
Keep in mind that if your puppy is teething and now has a floppy ear it will go back just give it a couple of days or a week. I had the same issue when my little boy started teething but everything went back to normal all on its own. |
Dinky has floppy ears. Sometimes I lift up his ears to see what he would look like if his ears stood up, and guess what he is just as adorable that way too! |
Brews ears were floppy, then up and down. The day after he turned 4 months old, both ears popped up and have been up ever since! |
I almost left Jimmy's one ear down cause he was so cute with it but I was curious to see if I could get it to stand up. Well, lol, it's up now :) |
So you wrap the ear with the non-sticky side? I love them both ways, floppy or perky, they are just too stinking cute either way... |
Gizmo is 1 and still his left ear will flop when he's getting tired! :p Just thought I'd add that in here. |
You'll want to put the sticky side in. The hair doesn't rip off them or anything unless you use duct tape, lol. And you don't want to do that. :) |
Thank you, I was afraid that the sticky side would hurt when you pulled it off. |
