Baron Maybe I need to let you talk to my husband. I am trying to talk him into letting me get another one and he isnt budging...And he loves Diesel and Daisy just as much as me... |
I love that about telling my husband. Where can you get bellybands and do they have anything for girls. I have one that marks just like a boy. |
do a search on google...im sure there are lot of people on this board that can tell you exactly where to go..i need to do some research on them as well... |
I just found this on another thread Belly band are for boys. The girl version is the doggy underware/diaper. See picture: http://www.doctordog.com/merchant2/...ategory_Code=DS You can find these at your local petstore. |
Crate training is working for me right now.. I leave him in it when i cant watch him and as soon as I take him out I take him outside. |
I agree with everyone else I would train the ones you have. Try crate training. Theres alot written on this site about it. |
I get my belly bands from Rena at Barkindogclothes.com. They're the least expensive ones I can find. Good luck!!! |

I wondered that about breeders. What breeders do you know that don't keep their dogs in the house? I think most of the breeders on here keep there's in the house and they are pets. I am not judging you for it because I am one who feels that most dogs who are raised by a breeder are better off than 90% of the dogs owned by the typical family in this country who keep their dogs outside or whatever, and you sound like your facility is quite nice, but we just worry about the socialization aspect and the fact that yorkies, by nature, crave human contact and attention. |
I agree with SoCalYorkieLover (which kinda scares me!) Just kidding Kim! ;) |
I did not get all my dogs at one time, but over a 78 year period, so I was only training 1 or 2 at a time. I have found using a crate at night, and during the day when I can not watch them all the time they are put into pens that are lined with piddle pads. I do let them out every couple of hours when I am home, but when I am working, they stay in pens with the piddle pads. I can't expect them to go 10 hours without going to the bathroom when I am at work, I can't go that long, so I don't expect them to either. When I am home I very seldom find any messes in the pens because they are let out regulary during the day. |
If you would like me to send the housebreaking info I send home with my puppy adopters you can pm me. I have 10 yorkies, two labrador retrievers, a great dane, a cat and three teenagers in my house and the entire first floor is 24 x 26. Please bring your yorkies inside. |
I completely agree with everyone else, that you should try and housebreak them. But why weren't they housebroken in the first place? I don't think it would be right to bring another yorkie home when you already have 4 others in the kennel.. Give the little ones some love and care and a little time and that leaste the chance. A little time and you will not beable to tell the differents in them :D |
You can always teach a dog something new if you are willing to take the time to do it, and the patience. Most toy dogs don't do well being away from the family, they are companion dogs, and crave contact with their humans. Even if they are breeding dogs, we keep them inside with us. I only breed when I need a new show pup to take into the ring, then I usually sell whatever I don't feel is ringworthy. |
