alternative to dog strollers Greetings from Houston.. I wanted more protection for my 2 yorksters....so I went to Ace Hardware and bought their largest shopping cart (not like the grocery store carts). I padded it on the bottom....they are free to look 360 degrees.....can not jump out to chase any critters....and are protected from curious or aggressive dogs. They know when the garage door opens and I wheel it to the front door that they are going on a neighborhood adventure....I have had lots of people just stop their cars in the street to interact with them. It is not a cutesy stroller.....but work just great. They love the openess and the breeze blowing on their sweet little faces. Max and Maggie's mom |
I don't have one, but it sounds like a good idea. Sometimes Brady does get overwhelmed with too many people. I have a nice dog carrier that I use to take him shopping. No one ever realizes he is in there, except a few dog lovers. I have actually had people tell me nice purse. I think it looks like a plaid mailbox, but whatever. The craziest place I have brought him with it was a mexican restraunt, we were on vacation and didn't want to leave him in the car. There was even a band in there and he didn't bark. So nobody has brought their dog shopping with their stroller? Thats the main reason I would want one. Don't the zip up, so people wouldn't know? |
Question about strollers. Do they have restraints? I've thought about getting one because I'd like to take Sasha w/ me more often but she's too people friendly and MUST stop and greet or stare at everyone in her sight. It's frustating because no one has time for all of that and I hate pulling on her harness all the time (sometimes to the point where she is standing on her hind legs.) But if I put her in a stroller, she would just jump right on out. I can't even use cute carriers for that reason. The only time she is still is when I have clothes on her. Hmmmm I think I may have just solved my problem....lol |

Now you have my gears turning. I really want to use mine to jog with, so maybe the Jeep Rubicon would be a wise choice for us. I just wish it was pink. Maybe I should check out the jogger kid strollers at the 2nd hand store. Hmmm... Quote:

1 Attachment(s) I have this one....and I must say it is really a pain to use; it's huge! It does have restraints and I can zip or unzip. I got it to use at flea markets, etc, but its too big for crowded places.:( |
Could anyone recommend a good stroller or where I can find one? |
