Hello, my name is Teresa and I'm... 3 Attachment(s) a Yorkie-holic. I know many of you suffer from this same disease and that I won't be judged here. I know you all will support me as I have fallen off the wagon...again. You see, I thought one Yorkie would be plenty. Annie was the perfect little girl. So sweet, so demur, so a Momma's Princess. Then we found Boo and just knew that he was meant to be with us. So he joined our family and I thought, yes, this is the perfect number of Yorkies to have. Then Annie was suddenly called home and we were back to one. Well that's just not a good number. As we all know One Is The Loneliest Number. We were so blessed when Gracie Ruth quickly joined our family and I thought, one puppy, I can do just one puppy. What harm can one puppy do? We really need two Yorkies and now we have two again. I thought I had my addiction under control. I thought I could stop at one puppy. But you see, this evil, evil disease - once it has ahold of you, once it gets ahold of your heart, deceives you into thinking you are in control, but you aren't, oh no, not by a long shot. And the worst part is...I've drugged my DH down with me. We went to see a friends puppies a few weeks ago. They are actually Gracie's Mom & Dad's 2nd litter, so I guess that would make them siblings, right. Well we were just innocently sitting there enjoying watching them all run around and play when those words were spoken. The words all Yorkie-holics dread..."Y'all are such good Yorkie parents. I see how happy and well taken care of Boo and Gracie are. I would love it if you would take one of the new puppies." AAHHHH!!!! NOOOOO!!!! Don't say it DH!! Don't say it!! Too late, it was like being in a car crash. Everything was going in slow motion and before I could stop it my DH said those fateful words, "Really, wow, yeah, that'd be great, but it would have to be one of the boys." And with that one simple run-on sentence we fell off the wagon. So please welcome our new boy, Yogi. Please don't hold a grudge against him, it's really not his fault he has weak parents who can't say no to sweet puppy breath and oh so soft puppy fur and adorable little puppy waddles and tender little puppy paws and the cutest little puppy tail you ever did see! He will be joining our family in November. And we will be in puppy breath heaven. I thank you now, for your support, and pray for us...that we can stop this addiction at 3. Because another friend will be having puppies the first of next year and heaven help us we will have to go see them. We must, MUST, be strong and resist the demons that will be screaming in our ears and hearts that just one more puppy won't hurt anything. One more will be no more work and a lot more puppy love. :luvu: |
That face is "to die for cute"! Congratulations! I love your story!! Hey, one, three, who's to say what too many is!! They certainly are irressistable, arent they?!:D |
Oh my goodness, I can see how you fell off the wagon girl! Yogi is a doll! Congratulations on your new addition to the family! I understand your situation, I too started out with just ONE and now have 3:D They are very addicting. Call me crazy but I could easily see myself getting a few more;) Sorry I am of no help for support to stop your addiction but I will gladly be your cheer leader when the temptation should strike you again:p |
Not a bad addiction to have Congratulations! He is irresistible, it's really not your fault.;) Just think of him as an early Christmas present. :) |

Thank you, everyone, for your support. I'll be sure to tell them at my weekly YA meeting (Yorkie-holic Anonymous) that I am not the only one who thinks he's got a very cute face. They don't seem so interested in those details and just keep harping on learning to just say No. |
He's adorable. Congrats! The bad thing about Yorkieholism is there is no 12 step so you just have to continue to feel the disease. :D |

The new baby is adorable!!! I too have that same problem....but I am here to warn you that 3 is an odd number and 1 dog won't have anyone to play with. We are now at 4 and I am holding my ground....I refuse to go see a Yorkie puppy in person. :D |

Oh Yogi is adorable!!! Congratulations to you!!! What a sweetie pie! |
Awe Yogi is a doll! I'm afraid I'm worse than anyone here. I have 5 Yorkies, 2 Biewers, a Chi/pom mix, and a Papillion. I also am fostering a Yorkie and have a grand baby yorkie over when her mom flys for United to Germany three times a month. Our grand baby across the street is here all the time too and now we are due to have puppies! Normal for us is ten or more fur babies at a time! That is a Yorkieaholic and then some!!!:D |
Hello, My name is Teresa Hi Everyone, I am new here, and I apologize that I have not posted sooner, but have been busy. Your story is precious, and I can relate to it so well. I just got my first Yorkie about 6 weeks ago, and am in love! Now, I know what they mean by "You can't have just one". As a matter of fact, I am going next week to look at a possible mate for her. I enjoy this site! I have learned so much about Yorkies just reading the posts. I will post pics as soon as I get a chance. |
Hi, Your story is great, but don't feel bad, there are a lot of us Yorkieholics out there!!!!!!!!:D Jackson:aimeeyork Gracie:aimeeyork Tucker:aimeeyork Rosey:aimeeyork |
