oh by the way welcome to yorkie talk. you sure do have a little cutie on your hands. i hope all your questions get answered. |
Welcome YT and congrats on your new addition. My Rocky is a small guy 3.9 pounds and there is no fat on him..I call him my little sprinter. I do free feed Rocky Nutro Small Chunks (Petsmart). While I'm making dinner the aroma has him in a frenzie..So I always have raw baby sweet carrots on hand. I can feel Rocky's ribs but he is just a lean small guy. Rocky will never be a rolo no matter how much he eats. ;-) No matter what good quality food you choose if you find he is not taking to it..Try mixing 1 tsp of the matching wet canned dog food with the dry to get him started. Let us know how it works for you. |
Forgot to mention I free feed..So his food is always available to him 24x7. |
my Nemo is going to get fixed next week, is it to soon ? I was told by the vet to try a/d Hill's Prescription Diet. he does not like it at all. I can't do the free feeding i have a chihuahua that over eat. i did find some soft dog food that he likes. been feeding him 3 times a day for the last few weeks. after taking to the vet today i was not to happy to see that he did not gain any waight. the vet recomend doing the surgery to get him fixed by next week, she told me that would help with the waight. i did some reeding about the gas that they use to put him under, they use the good kind. ohhh by the way the lady that sold him to me only had him for 2 month. I think she did not want him because he is not potty traind. the belly wrap help with one thing, but as farr as number 2 he goes where ever. i try to keep my eye on him it's realy hard he only goes one time in 24 hours. and it is never at the same time. it is going to take some work because of he's age. i would like to thank every one for all the replys. Welcome to YT! Your little Nemo is sooo cute! So little and tiny. My little guys was 2.5lbs when I first brought him home. I can hardly remember how small that was. Hope see you around the site! Take care and yes, try and beef that baby up! |
Hi: You've got a tiny one, for sure. I wish you could send him to me - my husband can put weight on anything/anyone including me. His favorite trick is adding some turkey baby food to whatever he's feeding puppies - they seem to love the flavor. I have to admit to being really curious what you paid for him. I know very tiny puppies can go for a lot, but I've never heard what is charged for an adult that is small. I've often wondered why more people who want tiny adults don't buy them as adults so they know how big they are. Anyway, if you're comfortable sharing the price, I'm sure I'm not the only one who is curious. Good luck with your precious one. CJ |
I have a very tiny rescue girl that I put weight on with Innova Small Bites. Since she was so starved, she wasn't picky, just happy to get any food. I think she survived mostly by eating poop. She is now just under two pounds, and about 2 years old. I don't even think of her as tiny anymore cause she is such a tough little girl--keeps up with my bigger boys without a problem. Good luck with your tiny littly one-he is adorable! |
