Newly Single Puppy Parent
 
To all of my friends here on YT:

I am so sorry I have been absent. Long story short, my husband of 5 years left the country and filed for divorce, shocking me and leaving me to be the single pup parent of our two furkids.

I just wanted to make sure I got back onto YT - I have relocated to the D.C. area and am setting up a new home for me and the furbabies.

I just want to thank everyone on YT for being there for me as the last year has been rough, capped off with this trauma. I am confident we will get back on our paws and make a wonderful fresh start!

Thanks! I am trying. These dogs are what keep me going!

I got us an apartment - with a YARD!! and we are down the block from a dog park. We are very excited! :)

I was wondering where you were, Hillary!! I'm really, really sorry to hear that your absence was caused by this :(. I do hope your heart is mending and that you're getting on your feet. Your babies love you and I'm so glad you have them. I know you've been through a lot with some illnesses in your family too this year - so I do hope things settle down for you. Know I'm thinkin' of ya - and that we're all here for you. LOTS OF HUGS! :) :) :)

So sorry you're going thru a difficult time...I'm glad you have the furbabies ...they'll always give you unconditional love. Glad to see another local here.....I'm 15 mins from D.C. work in virginia.live in southern maryland...if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to reach out...we're all here for one another!!

I'm sure you'll be fine!;) ((Hugs))

what turds guys can be!!! Sorry u went thru this...you really didnt deserve it. I am glad Louis and Ella Bean are doing well and happy with the park and yard! If you need anything Im here. :) Glad to hear form you. We have missed you!

Thank you so much for all of your support! I can ALWAYS count on YT for support and love. I have to say - now that I am in DC, I plan on attending the YT meetup in Arlington! I am excited. My heart is mending slower then the rest of me, but time heals all wounds...

Turds indeed! Paula - I have missed you and I take comfort that you are raising your son to be a GOOD man. We need more of those out there! Louis and Ella Bean are hanging in - they are mostly confused by all the moving around and not feeling very settled, but we get into our apartment in a week and a half and I think once that happens and we start getting into a routine, they will be doing much, much better.

DC is great. I grew up right outside the city - and relocated back due to the split - but I have to say, I found an apartment and a job rather easily. Because almost everything is affected by the government, the area is pretty recession proof, making it a nice respite from the economic state of the rest of the US! Let me know if you are thinking of coming down!

Thanks Paula! I have to say - they are keeping me going. I am joining all sorts of local small dog meetup groups to meet other dog lovers - just taking one day at a time and focusing on the pooches! I have to say, because of Louis and Ella Bean, my bed hasn't felt as empty as it would otherwise feel...So in the future - no man better try and come between me and my furkids! They are the best!

I start my new job next week (blech) but I also think that will be good to distract me.

Oh - and I thought everyone should know:

the jerk let me know by EMAIL that he filed for divorce - disconnected all numbers and then FLED the country and got his citizenship in Israel so he wasn't financially accountable for anything.

AFTER I SPENT THE LAST YEAR LIVING WITH AND CARING FOR HIS PARENTS!!! Then, the entire family, parents included, stopped returning calls, emails etc.

I would be honest if I did something to deserve it - but all I tried to do was love each and every one of them...:(

MEN!:mad:

I am only 25 though, so I am hoping my youth will help me bounce back quickly. Its just so hard when you are still completely in love with such a massive poop-head.

Hang in there, men can be pigs trust me I know ! I'm new here on YT and if you need someone to talk to I'm here. Your babies will help you get through the rough spots. Just remember, women are way more tough than guys !

Hello Cupofdog... God made Yorkies for times such as what you are going through...dogs giveTRUE unconditional love and teaches us about forgiveness and appreciation. How many times have our dogs forgiven us over and over again and who but our dog's greet us with such glee EACH AND EVERY TIME THEY SEE US RETURN!!? You will be fine because you have those Yorkies to help you focus and move on!!
