My Mother is dying
 
Just wanted to update you all as to why I haven't been on for awhile. My mother is under hospice care and we thought we were going to lose her this past weekend. I have been very involved with family for the past several weeks. She is not eating or drinking very much....congestive heart failure among other things...she is 87 years old.

Copper is regressing a bit with the house training. I think he feels all the anxiety, etc. over this, plus I have been away from home, driving back and forth. She lives 2 hours away. It has been very rough, and I am extremely tired. I will be back with you guys soon, but in the meantime, thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers.

Ann, my prayers are with you and your family. Sorry to hear about this. I am sure that your little one will be back to normal-they are sensative to all of this too, I am sure.

My prayers are with you. My Mother will be 90 on her birthday. Shes doing really well, but we just take one day at a time. I know its been really hard for you but you will get through it .

Ann, I'm so sorry that you're going thru a hard time. My prayers are with you and your family and little Copper. Be careful as you drive back and forth. Keep us posted on how things are going.

I lost my mother to colon cancer at 54...hospice is a wonderful help. My prayers for a sweet release for your mother.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. We are taking one day at a time. Everyone is calling her a medical miracle. All of the nurses were surprised that she was still with us this morning. I spent 2 nights in the nursing home with her. I really appreciate all of the replies. I know I won't be able to acknowledge all of them, but please let this be my sincere thanks. I will let you know when things calm down.

about your mother. Losing your parents is one of the hardest times in your life. No matter how old we are, we are not ready to let go. My mom had four major strokes at 57 and lived totally paralized for the last 18 years of her life. As bad as it was watching her slip away an inch at a time for that length of time, I was not ready to let her go. She passed on Thanksgiving day 2000 at age 75 and I still am not over it. My prayers to your family at this sad time.

My prayers are with you - Copper will get over having to share you so much. Like babies, they don't understand. Your mother needs you now and Copper will get back into his routine I'm sure. My Mom has just recently had to put in nursing home with Alzheimers and Sabrina doesn't understand why all of a sudden I'm gone every day for an hour or so too, but after a couple of months she seems to know I'm coming back, just like when I was working.

So sorry about your mom. It is such a hard thing.

My father passed away in January. My mother-in-law 2 weeks later and 2 of my uncles after that. It has just been one of those years. Copper has really been my therapy. He is just always there for me. It is so true what they say about pets being good therapy for people.

AAnn I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I myself lost my Mom 5 years ago so I understand the pain you are going through. I have you and your family in my thoghts and prayers. Remember to take care of yourself during this difficult time.

Ann,

I'm so sorry about your mom. We have a special link to our mothers. In a way, we are them. God bless you and we will say special prayers this evening for you, your mother and the rest of your family. My own mother is 86. I certainly understand the unbelievable strength that such a frail body can have. Copper is there, too, for that special and unselfish love.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I know it must be hard. Surround yourself with family and people that you love - it doesn't make it easier, but it definetly helps to know that you have people there for you. I'll be keeping you in my prayers.

So sorry to hear about your mom. Just want to let you know I will have you and your family in my prays and also little copper. Its probablly hard on him with you being away but just let him give you his :hug: love and you do the same and when things calm down he will go back to normal they can sence when something if wrong. You will be in my prays take care of your self and let us know how you are doing. We are always here. ;)

I know exactly what you are going through. Especially when we know we are losing them soon. I lost my mother sept. 28th of last year. She was 83. She had alzheimers, parkinsons disease and congestive heart failure. Just spend as much time with her as you possibly can. each minute counts. Seeing your mother like this is hard on you and sometimes you don't know how you will make it another day. Hang in there. Hugs from us all.
