Which pic? Help me decide. 3 Attachment(s) I am having a portrait done of my daughter's dog, Spike, for her birthday. I have narrowed it down to these three. I want it to match his personality which is very sweet and playful and a little mischievious. We call him the eternal puppy because he never seemed to grow up- he's really very much a silly little boy. Here are my choices: 1.Attachment 243969 The one from my avatar. I think it is so cute but my daughter prefers his hair kept shorter (cotton coat = grooming nightmare) and his hair is longer in this picture than it usually is. 2.Attachment 243970 Spike is on the right and would be the only one in the portrait. The background would be white. 3.Attachment 243971 So which one would you pick?:) |
Oh they are all so cute! If it's for your daughter and she prefers the short hair, then my vote would be for #2! You will have to post pictures once you have it! |
I like No. 2, such a cute face. |
They're all cute pics,it's hard to pick one! I think I have to say that #3 is my favorite, he looks so sweet:D |
I like #2 the best |
I think #1 is my favorite but if your daughter prefers him with shorter hair then I vote #2! What a little cutie! |
I have to go with the group, and say number two. They are all so sweet it was hard to pick. What a little cutie :aimeeyork |
They are all very cute. #2 is my vote. |
Spike is so cute!! It depends what kind of portrait you are doing, if you're doing a headshot, then #3 captures his cute face and mysterious eyes. If you're doing a full body, then #2. He's just so gorgeous in #2!!! |
Wow, thanks for all of the fast responses! I like number 1 the best too but the other 2 look more like he really looks. Looks like number 2 is winning. I'm going to send in the picture this afternoon. Mtzisgodmother is doing the portrait. I am so excited to see how it turns out. I'll probably need one of Sugar too.:p |
I would have to say #2 is my pick. |
I vote for Spike in pic #2 as well. Looks like you can tell that he's sitting still for the pic, but there's a little twinkle in his eye that tells you he's going to be into something as soon as you turn your back. :p |
Hi, Just want to give you my 2 cents,,, I do pencil portraits from pics and I think #2 is the best pic (jmo). He sure is a cutie and I think this is a GREAT gift idea!!!! your daughter will love it! |

Hmm. I like the first one the best, I think. |
I agree - number 2. Where do you get a portrait made? One of my dad's poodles died last year, and I'd love to get her and her brothers pics made into a portrait, although the quality of the pics aren't great, I'd like an opinion, but didn't know who to contact?? Thanks in advance for the help... |

I love picture one, I love tongue shots, and I think it shows loads of personality; you can't see the body hair too much, just the face hair, and it doesn't look so long that he's lost the puppy look. If pleasing your daughter on this is the goal, I would definitely get her input, because sometimes we think we may know what someone would like, based on one thing, but we end up all wrong. |
Okay, this is TOTALLY a tough call bc they're each so different!! #1: this one is a "moment" picture, a candid - "I caught you" pic, which captures something unique #2: this one is him perfectly posed and just very handsome and adorable, he's having a very good fur day here. His expression is kind of "take the picture MOM" #3: LOVE his eyes here - he looks totally engaged, like he's about to pounce right at the camera at any moment - so I see some naughty, wide-eyed playfulness in his expression here, which is just shining in his little face in this picture; I almost feel like he has his eyebrows raised here like "You want some OF ME?" in this pic; I think he really comes through here So then, clear as mud? Yeah, totally can't decide here. I think if you want candid, go w/ #1. Otherwise, if you want classic - go w #2, but see if she can capture that look in his eyes from #3. I clearly spend too much time with my camera, does it show? |
Spinning off from Wylie's Mom's comment, if it were me, and I was doing a portrait I personally would go for the classic look. And she's right #2 definitely has that going on. I vote #2. |
I would pick two, he is so cute. |

Have y'all seen Meerkat Manor? That is Spike to a tee! He's totally a little meerkat.:p He sort of looks like one and he moves around just like one. Not the best breed representation by a mile but he is the funniest little thing I've ever seen and he worships my daughter. |

Okay, it's crystal clear now.:p Before I started going through all of the pictures I was planning on using number 3 because it really captures that goofy little look he has but I think I'll end up going with 2. Myabe I should break out the camera and really confuse myself!:D |
#1 shows his playful and mischievious side, i love it! |
3 Attachment(s) Look how different he looks with more hair. I think he's cuter but it was so hard to keep up that cotton coat. My daughter brushed him like he was made of eggshells and left me to discover the mats.:p She likes him better short and it's a lot easier on me so short it is. In the third one he is on the left and my messy little Sugar is on the right. I don't know what I was thinking taking pictures of him when he was so messy. A mother's love is blind I guess.:D |
I pick #3. I love his face. |

Well, now you've gone and done it! A second batch of pics! I'd be going with Pic #2 in the first batch, and Pic #1 in the second batch. Spike sure is a cutie :D |
Have you thought about being sneaky? Tell your daughter your making a new avatar, and to pick her very favorite picture. I love this shot too. It's perfect in everyway to me. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...mbers_0494.jpg |
#1. Love it. |
