oh we are SOOOOOOOOO teething we chew on EVERYTHING!:D |
I know that it is not standard, but I do like my Harley's floppy ears too! He was at the groomers today and she called me to ask if I wanted her to start "Yorkie Ears" for Harley. I told her no, I really liked his floppy ears. She was great about it, she did trim some stragglers, but nothing major. Jeri and Harley:aimeeyork |
Ears up Some puppies do have ears that go up and stay up by themselves, but if yours aren't partly up by 7 weeks, you may have to help them. You can keep the top half of the ears , front and back , trimmed with a man's mustache trimmer and that will take some of the weight off so that they can go up easier by themselves. If that doesn't work, the website given earlier,( Jo An Yorkies)has great directions on taping. If you wait too long, the ears are harder to get up. |
What kind of ears do morkies usually have? |
Ears WELL MY LIL BOY IS 17 WEEKS NOW AND @ 15 WEEKS WHAT I DID WAS I TRIMED THE HAIR FROM THE BACK OF THE EARS W/ A SICCIURS AND 3 DAYS LATER HIS EAR WAS UP HE ONLY HAD THAT PROMBLEM IN ONE EAR ONLY CAUSE ABOUT TAPEING HIS EARS I REALY DIDN'T WANT TO DO THAT TO HIM AND WHEN I TRYED TO SHAVE HIS EARS HE GOT SCARED OF THE SHAVER LOL POOR THING :animal36 WELL GOOD LUCK ON THAT I KNOW IT COULD BE FRUSTRADING  :aimeeyork :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa ;) |
Remember also that when a yorkie is teething their ears are floppy! |
Why is that? |
I got My Suzi at 10 weeks. She had floppy ears too. Then a couple of months later she started standing them up on her own, AND also having one ear up and one down. She needs to have her ears shaved, so they are down again. I think they adorable floppy :) |
New Question: She loses control sometimes. She completely spazzes out on me with biting and growling. I can barely hold on to her. I tried scuffing her and telling her no, but it doesn't work. The tin can with pennies in it doesn't faze her. I mean, we have major poltergeist problems when she gets so hyper. And I'm not doing ANYTHING to spur it on. She just acts plain possessed. |
Minnies mom, Some Morkies have the floppy ears like a Maltese and some have the Yorkie ears. It seems that the majority have the floppier ears. ;) |
:) Do you see a trend in the advice here? She's young! Once your Yorkie starts teething there will be an increase in calcium - I think you will probably see perky ears!!! You can tape, you can shave....leave it in God's hands! |
When they're teething their ears can flop. Katies did, Suzi's didn't. Your puppy is only young yet. Hugs Shirl x x |
We went to the vet today for shots. He gave us some antibiotic for her stinky ears. Yay! Her ears are perking up a bit. They are better than they were a couple of days ago. I think its just gonna take time. They are so big, though. I don't know how she'll ever grow into them. We sing "Bat Dog" to her all of the time. |
