| Thank goodness! I bought the gentle leader for Smokey so we decided to go to PetSmart and try it out. Well, right before we left, I put the leashes on the pups, but noticed Smokey's leash came off. I figured that maybe I just didn't hook it good enough so thinking nothing of it, I put it back on. We get to the store and are walking around for a good 15 minutes or more, then go to look at the cats. I had just lifted Smokey up to see a kitty, and put him back down. He took a few steps away from me and I look down to see his leash dangling beside me. Thank goodness he didn't know he was unhooked because he's the kind to run and boy is he FAST! All I could think of was him running out of the door and getting hit by a car. I hurried up and grabbed him really quick and hubby rigged it so it would come off again. We can't figure out what happened because the latch seems good still. Needless to say, I'm buying new leashes!!

| That's scary. I always worry about mine getting out of their harnesses, I don't take them out except to the vet or my work. They are both timid and do not enjoy meeting people anyway. I am glad you realized he was unhooked before he did.

| WOW! How scary!! You could spend days on all of the "what ifs". I am so glad that your little one had a very quick and uneventful escape. |
