Beau, loves to take a walk...Zoey, the baby also likes to walk, but Gus....I don't have to trim him nails for about a week after a walk or should I say a carry. I'm not sure I would call him lazy, but walking is not his idea of fun. He's a funny guy...never barks, content to lay in his crate or lay out in the sun. He's not a typical yorkie....he's afraid of his shadow. We call him Linus sometimes, because he'll carry a piece of rag in his mouth when he gets upset...like when I vacuum. My other two will sit with me or my husband, but Gus is a momma's boy...he's a sweetie. Maybe it's because he's the middle child...trying to keep peace....the oldest Beau is bossy and the youngest Zoey is a princess....I guess I should be glad Gus is so mellow. He's the one in the middle of the picture....head tilted...always when you talk to him..... |
Lazy dogs I have a 3yr old, 2yr old, and 5months old. The smallest one is the laziest one. Abby wants to do nothing but lie in my lap. If I get up, she follows me around the house and swines until I sit down, then up in my lap she comes. She is content to just lie there all day long. I thought there was something wrong with her, because my other two are very playful and active. I can't even get Abby to play. I've only had her a couple of weeks. She's afraid of everything. She runs at the least noise and she won't sit with anyone but me. I wonder if she will outgrow this or is it simply her personality. |

Lazy dogs I live near Tuscaloosa, AL. I hope she gets better she doen't try to bite anyone but she is afraid of everyone. I put her in my husband's lap and before I can walk 5 feet away she jumps down. She want go to anybody. I just hope this reaction is not from her being mistreated or anything. I don't think they took up any time with her. She was always left alone. They had no children and they both worked. Maybe she will grow out of it! |

hehe...none of mine is lazy...you would think out of 6 dogs i would at least have 1...hehe |
I think you are right. She is very shy. If I sit down she will jump up in my lap but she will not hardly make eye contact with me. The only way my husband can hold her is for me to put her in he lap and sit right there beside them. She sneaks over in my lap in just a few seconds. I take up a lot of time with her, she even sleeps with me but even when I try to pick her up, most the time she runs away. She is still young so I have hope. She's very tiny, maybe weighs 1 and a half lbs. |

I was getting concerned because Gucci does the same thing in the morning. I open the crate and he stays inside just looking at me. Eventually, he will come out but most mornings I have to get ready for work, so he HAS to come out for his morning walk. He's perfectly fine once we get him out. I wouldn't call him lazy, more like his stubborn. He's very well socialized. There's no one and no dog he doesn't love. Unfortunately, all dogs don't feel the same way about him. |

This thread made me laugh because my bf just finished saying how fat and lazy Sophie is:p First off she's not fat at all but she ate a lot today and has a little belly and i guess she is so full that she has been passed out and just very lazy:rolleyes: It's so cute and funny tho, i will pick her up and she will just let me and stay completely still and if i put her on my shoulder she will just fall asleep there. The truth is they are all lazy at diff. times. Well no actually Teddy i don't think ever is lazy, he is the most active, before i even get up he hops over me and is up before me lol But the girls have their lazy moments. Sometimes i have to carry London when i am walking her cause for w.e. reason she will just stop walking and refuse to go on, i guess cause she knows i will carry her. Both of them like to be carried, gosh i spoiled them oops lol |
Yeah, when I pick her up she lets me do whatever I want to her. When I put her down she swines until I reach to pick her and and she backs away. Sounds like that's a pretty common thing with yorkies. She doesn't mind being brushed, toenails clipped, belly rubs, she's like a rag doll in your lap.:p |
My baby loves going out for walks. However, when we are home, she doesn't even want to following me around (haven't been for a long time now). She is only 3.5 years old. At first, I thought there might be something wrong with her and I was really concerned. Now I am sure she is fine. I guess she just doesn't see the point of following me around the house since I am not really going anywhere. Talk about lazy dog. She doesn't move much at home unless I got some goodies for her in my hands. What can I say? I've thinking about getting another dog though. Maybe having a playmate would help. |
Lazy Dog I just got a new baby and she is just as lazy as the 3 year old.:p They play together a little but both of them are lap dogs. They would sit in my lap all day if I didn't get up. |
I wish! my little guy is only 10 weeks but he's a maniac in the making lol... just curious do they calm as they get near a year or two or do they just get more spunky? |
My baby was no-stop when she was little. She went from a maniac to a lazy bone. She wouldn't moved even if I got out of the sofa and walked away from her. She would just lay there and hope for me to come back to her. LOL. Yes, they would slow down. It took a couple years. By the way, she is 3.5 years old now. |
