You should totally get that on video, I want to see it! Then you should send it to America's Funniest Home Videos! It would be a winner for sure, that is too funny. Plus the producers will do voice overs for the video "What is taking you so long Zoey, just find a pot to pee in!" "Oh Toby whats the rush, just looking for that sweet spot" "I can't take this anymore! GRRRR! Take That. And That" then you come and break it up "Break it up kids, thats enough" LOL! |

My Shih Tzu has a very laidback personality. She enjoys sitting in my lap. Also, she enjoys being treated like a princess. She hates going for long walks, but she loves car rides. I have to drag her down the street when we walk to the mailbox. When she gets tired of walking, then she will just sit. I am force to pick her up and carry her home. My Yorkie is very excitable and loves to play. My Shih Tzu is always running away from my Yorkie. She cannot play for long periods. Sometimes I feel like a referee. I have to stop my Yorkie from trying to play with my Shih Tzu when she is tired. How do you teach your dog to stop playing when the other dog is tired? I am going to adopt a Maltese puppy, because I want him to grow up with a friend that around the same age. I am hoping to find him a friend with the same activity rate as my Yorkie to alleviate the problem. I understand your situation. I experience it every time I walk my dogs too. Does your dog force the other dog to play when he is tired? |

I glad your dogs do not have that problem. My two dogs are best friends. They are wonderful dogs. I just have to teach him when to stop playing with my Shih Tzu. I was hoping somebody had some suggestions on how to solve this problem. I am thinking of putting him in his kennel when he persists in playing with her when she is tired. My Shih Tzu is five years old and he is a puppy. Their activity rates are very different, and he does not understand that his friend is very tired. |
trixie will get in my purse, which is always ling on the floor, because she loves going out; but she would never walk outside willingly. |
Nope.. Suzi is a little ball of energy. I think if she were human it would be ADHD. She's A nut. LOL . :D |
Ahh, nice to know I'm not alone... I have to drag my little guy for about 2 houses till he gets the idea that I'm not giving up and that he needs to go on his walk. Unfortunately the neighbors across the street can no longer see him at that point so all they see is me dragging him behind me every morning. |
sophie& pebbles :wavey: hi, i have 2 yorkie little girls, both would rather drive than walk, hate the cold, rain, twigs leaves (except for rolling in of course ha!ha.love electric blankets, fire, bed, cuddles. carries in basket, fuss over them of course, showing of to any one available and being spoilt by one and all. really just the usual yorkie attitude to life in general.!!!no 1 baggage |
I gave up dragging Gus for walks. I did not consider it appropriate for training him to walk. He needs to think of it as a pleasant experience. He will not walk away from our house, but he will walk back. So, I carry him away from the house, and then we walk back together. The first couple of times I got that "I know you aren't going to pick me up and carry me home, and I'm going to have to walk back" look. |
Oh yes girl! My Dexter would not use his 4 god given legs if he had a choice! He would be permanently attached to me! LOL He just loves to be held! People are always amazed at how 'lazy' he is, hes not lazy, just loves his mama! haha |
Believe it or not, Eddie is lazy in the winter. He detests having to wear booties, but they are the only way he can tolerate the cold, so I insist on them when there's snow on the ground. All the dogs were hovering around me this morning, so I finally said "Are you ready to go for a walk." Rusty and Jack immediately started spinning at my heels while Eddie sprinted for the bedroom where he's hiding under the bed. Occasionally, I'll give in and let him be lazy, but for the most part I scoop him up and make him go. He always has a good time once we're out there. |
Yep, Tatum is pretty lazy! She has her moments when she can run and growl and chase anything you throw and that's usually daily (in the mornings when my husband gets up and I'm heading out of the house and in the evening after we're all settled in) but it doesn't last very long. Mostly she follows me around while I'm running crazy all over the house (you know how that is after work in the evenings!) just waiting for me to plop down so she can curl up on me. I think I have the best of both worlds. She loves to play but she sure loves to be a couch potato too! And sleep.... she would stay in bed all day with me if I would (and yes, it's been know to happen). |
Shadow will play and follow me around. But I think he's lazy. he'll just plop down on me. No sitting or laying gracefully. He's a plopper. I laugh every time. |
I used to think my Shih Tzu was lazy, but now I think she just likes to be pampered. I pampered her too much when she was a puppy. She likes to play in short spurts. My Yorkie loves to walk. He plays constantly if you let him. |
