Yeah, he is okay. It was something small that hit him. He did keep holding his cheek and saying it hurt. But not once did he say he was going to get out of it. |

I'm wondering if he decided to hang onto the palm tree before or after he got hit in the face. He is such a fool! They asked him at one point "Heraldo, buddy do you have a plan if you get pulled out into the ocean from the surge" Herraldo says "NO!"  |
Ike Well, Paise God it did not come here. We are high and dry. Did not get anything. God Answers prayer. I pray for Others who are in it. May God wrap His Arms around you and Keep you safe. Love Cheryl/Jack/Bella/some day a biewer:animal-pa |
I'm happy to see some of you in Houston checking in and hope that the one's who haven't are just out of power and nothing more serious. Where I live, in Brenham, we are on the "evacuation route" and we've pretty much been unable (or unwilling) to get out on the highways. I'm out in the country with two highways to get into town - one of them being 290. It really is incredible to go out to the highway and see cars packed for miles and miles plus what you can't see beyond the hill is cars for many, many more miles. I would hate to have to sit in that! My best friend's sister lives near Johnson Space Center and has no idea what happened to her house. She evacuated to her mom's house (here in Brenham). I sure hope they have flood insurance! My husband's uncle works in Houston at the JPMorganChase building. We heard this morning that the 75 floor building had most/all/some (??) of the windows blown out. Ouch! Imagine going back to work to that mess! We got quite a bit of rain and wind but probably the worst thing is that we're missing part of the roof from an old barn on our family property out here and our power was only out for about an hour this morning. That's nothing compared to what we're seeing on the news so we are quite lucky. We'll be praying for all of those who had to evacuate that you'll have minimal or no damage to your house/property when you return. Be safe getting back! |
How are you making out? I recently relocated back to Lake Charles, LA and know exactly what you are going through and what you are saying about the poor little pets being left behind. Hope all is well with you. |
Flooded Hi glad to see many of our yorkie talkers that live in the Gustav and Ike paths are hanging in there. We have flooded bigtime! These storms have affected many states. Be patient with recovery. I think God is trying to tell us something with these storms. |

We are going on day 4 without power, luckily the weather is cooler, phew . I still miss it, the cost of gas is going up, the lines at the gas stations are up to 2 hrs. long. I am trying not to go anywhere but we have had to stand in line to fill up the gas can for the generator which we are using part time and doing without the rest of the time . My job location has no power, no water, we have been told it could take a wk or longer to repair since the post broke to pieces. Very bad for business and paychecks.:( uuuughh |
