oh you guys - this is getting so scary - ALL THE BEST TO YOU !!! We're talking about a 'for sure' hit now - I sure hope my job lets us go tommorrow - I've stocked up on water and stuff but man - I'm feeling it too even though no evacs called here

GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL !! STAY SAFE and PLEASE KEEP US UPDATED if you have computer access !! shoot I may not have computer access either - but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for us all - especially those who have to leave their homes :(

Hey girl.... I don't know what is up in Harris Co. but Jefferson, Hardin, and Orange Co. have all issued mand. Evac..... I'm not going @ this point, will make a dec. in the morning. Anway, just wanted you to have a heads up since you are 100 or so miles closer to landfall than we are..... Just worried about you staying up there.....

Everyone please stay safe!!! We are staying here in Sugar Land althought we are probably in line for a direct hit. My son, g'son and their cocker will be coming to our house tonight. They live near the coast. The gas stations are empty and the stores are cleared already. We have lots of canned foods and MRE's from my Marine son so we will eat like the troops in Iraq! We have water and all the girls will be with me.
We will be praying for everyone to be safe!! Don't know if we will have power. They still run power above ground here:( so it is vulnerable to high winds.

I am reading this with tears in my eyes. I live in the North and have never had to worry about Hurricanes. We have Blizzards here. No evacuation needed. Just stranded for days. I can't even imagine what it must feel like. I am terrified for all of you.

Please stay safe everyone. Anyone need a place to stay and wants to come to NY I have a big house and 4 acres. All we are expected to get from this is a little rain.

Seems a small price to pay for all your worries.

You are all in my prayers. Keep safe

This is so scary anytime it happens but when you hear it firsthand from people you know and care for it's really scary. All we can do here is pray for you and I'm a firm believer in prayer. Please stay as safe as you can.

Please stay safe. I have been watching all week and praying it would just go far away; obviously it hasn't :(. I too wish that it would just go to a desserted island....matter of fact all of the hurricanes would just leave everyone in their path alone. God bless!

Hmmm, the gas stations are craaaaazzzyy! the lines are forever long at some, I haven't even gone to the grocery store yet. I looked at the traffic on 290 towards Austin ... not moving and even if I had to evacuate I'd hate to get on a freeway that is not moving. We did OK with Katrina and the one that followed, the worst we faced were the howling winds the night of the hurricane, strong winds, power outage. Hopefully Gods grace will be upon us ALL and it won't be any worse than what we have already experienced in the past. uuuughh

We are staying unless they call for mandatory evacs. I have 4 eight day old babies & two others . I am ready with everything if they tell us to get out. I'm just worried they are waiting too long to call for evacs. for Harris county. I have a daughter in Rusk & a sister in Caldwell so they are ready for us if we need to get out.

make sure your windows and doors are covered.. and your garage door too...

if you lose power.. you can evacuate after the storm.. dont get stuck in traffic

I know that's one of the reasons I haven't left. I don' want to be stuck on the freeway for hours with these tiny babies & can you imagine the stress on my lily trying to keep her babies safe. No thank you I'll wait it out as long as I can.

They are still talking heavy rain and 45 mph winds for us in North Central Texas.

I live in northwest Houston. The winds are starting to pick up outside. I've boarded up & stocked up on ice & water. It's going to be a long weekend . Everyone stay safe .

Thanks all for your good thoughts and prayers for those of us in TX. I was NOT worried until I saw Galveston, TX on the news this morning at 8:30 a.m. .... the ocean was coming up on the road and this was not even the storm surge yet! Galveston is approx. 2 hours from NW Houston so I don't know how bad it is going to get for us. I did hear a governor and the Mayor say that they haven't seen a hurricane this big since 1900, so yeah that put some fear in me. I am praying for the best. They expect it to come in this evening with the worst of it at 3 a.m. or so, uuughh. Like they say here in TX it's time to "hunker" down. :rolleyes:

We appreciate the blanket of prayers over Houston, Galveston & other nearby areas. Thanks.:)

Please leave your area if it is in the path of this hurricane.. I have been watching it all day and this is one really scaring the pants off of me.. please go and be in a safe area...thinking and praying for you all. I cannot take my eyes off this tv channel... anne

Texas is my prayers and my family, I am in florida and we know how this feel, we have been lucky this year for now. When Ike was mentioned before we even knew its path we were packing and planning to go on the road with 4 yorkies and a rottie, so I have no clue on where these people have there hearts my dogs are my world, they actually make me smile at the end of the day its like your own child(sorry this is the way I feel)I could never see a dog hurt its so sad!!!I hope if anyone left there pets behind hopefully someone will rescue them. THAT IS JUST NOT WRIGHT!!!!!!!!!

We just got a direct hit on the coast of LA from Gustav & Ike is causing severe flooding in homes farther down the bayous from my house right now.
I know Evacuating isn't any fun with lil dogs 1st hand
BUT please evacuate from the coast now!!! Hurricanes are NOT Pretty!!!
Please be Careful & Safe. Prayers are with you all.
