| Need some help. letting neighbors dogs out! Neighbors asked me to let their dogs out and feed while they are gone this weekend! I say No problem!! I don't really know their dogs but they have a black lab pup, and a white fluffy dog I think is an American Eskimo or something similar. No sweat! BUT, i just went to let them out for the evening and their white fluffy dog, will not budge from behind the kitchen table. I tried to sit on the kitchen floor and talk sweet to her. Her ears went back and she started growling. I don't think she would charge me, but she was obviously very uncomfortable with me and wouldn't go outside! I didn't want to pressure her. Now what am I gonna do? Any tips? I have her owners mother's phone number and I may have to call if Frisha doesn't want to go potty tomorrow a.m.

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | That's a tough one! Probably the best situation would have been if you could have gotten to know them first, but that's in the past so all there is to work with is the here and now! Hmm...treats? You've probably tried those. But you might try calling her mommy and asking if there's any really SPECIAL treats she has that she doesnt get much, as those might be more convincing! That's all I can really think of. Maybe try using a favorite toy too or something. Best of luck! Let us know how it goes, if you can!

| Yes, getting to know them better would have been nice!! She came down at 5:30 this evening and asked and they were leaving at 6:30pm!!! The lab is a breeze, she's a typical lovey dovey lab. But Frisha is a challenge! I may try to take some of the homemade pumpkin treats I make down to her tomorrow a.m. and see if that works. Otherwise, I'll have to call the owners mom and see if she can come over and get her to go out! Poor little baby, I feel bad for her cause she doesn't know me. I hate for her to be so scared.

| Well she is either going to go outside or you are going to clean up a mess. How long are they gone for?

| Just til Sunday! I went back down for a minute just so she would see me again and gave her a bone. Still ears down and licking but no growling. I guess that's progress.

| Maybe once you have opened the back door you should go outside so she can come out on her own. She might feel intimidated with a stranger standing near her, if you're already outside she may follow you out after a little while! Good luck.

| Our neighbors asked us to do the same thing. But we couldn't get one of their lab's to leave the dog house to go back in side. We called the owners up and they talked to her but still she would not move. My 13 year old son finally got on the ground and crawl from the dog house to the house and she finally crawled with him back into the house. This was so funny. Maybe if you had a older child that has played with the dogs before could help you. Good luck |

| Open the back door and go outside and stand away out of sight, wait for awhile until the dog gets comfortable enough to venture outside. You can put a trail of treats leading to outside, but not too many. |

| I would go outside with the Lab..and leave the door open to the backyard...and let the other dog see you playing friendly with the Lab. Some dogs are just a little apprehensive at first. Hope this helps...good luck...fill us in ! |
