Okay I just left this other member RustysMom a pm now that I have the right person. lol hopefully she can tell me more about this rescue. Thanks everyone for your help. Ill keep you all updated. lets all pray that this women does find these Yorkies are wonderful homes like they so deserve. |
When I talke dto Melinda on the phone she said that there was seven Yorkies she was having picked up but the breeder told me there was only five, so I called the breeder back asking about the seven and well very sad news She said there was seven. She had took them into town to get their shots becaus eher vet is a long ways away and she thought by taking them to the one in town being closer and all it would be easyier sense she was taking in all seven of them. well Sad news two died. After getting their rabie shots one started acting funny with eyes in her head and all and she died right there. The breeder said she thinks they got her in the vain, The vet said its becaus ethey had never had a rabie shot before and he hadnt known. The other girl starting having seizures and what he thinks was a stroke and it caused brain damage so they had to put her to sleep. Oh My Gosh those poor babies. I wont take mine to that vet because long ago he would not take me in because I didnt have the full money up front and well my dog died before I got it to another vet. Im am so sad about what happened to these girls. The breeder is heartbroken. |

I'm just hoping and praying this rescue is good and all these babies find the good, loving homes they so greatly deserve!! |
Ugh! Here i am, RustysMom. Snoutmamma. Yes we are legit. We know nothing about a lab rescue though, that must be the transport girl in OH who will bring the Yorkies to Princeton WV and a transport gal from our org will meet her there in Princeton. We used to be with YTRN but opened NC Yorkie Rescue Inc. recently. So recently that our website is not complete yet, but we have rehomed about 11 babies through Petfinder. Melinda is originally from OH so she and the breeder must have found things to talk about. Melinda is a member here, as is the transport gal Lynn. Sorry I was out of the loop today. Rusty had surgery today and I was preoccupied with that. Just got on. Glad to see all is well now. Here are our links for anyone who would like to see them and we always could use some more fosters for all you YT'ers in NC................. NCYorkieRescue, Inc. http://ncyorkierescue.org |
Those poor babies dying like that... I just hope the other 5 get a real good life. That is so sad. That should teach us all not to be to hasty and in a big hurry with our furbabies at the vets....... I'm sorry this has just upset me terribly |
Just to follow up: The President of YTRN in NC died suddenly, I think her name was Janie. I know she lived in Statesville, NC. (that happened while I was recovering from a stroke) We used to have a male vet in Eden or Reidsville NC as the NC president of YTRN but after so many years he quit. So if you Google Melinda you will find her attached to these folks and it all may look illegitimate, but there are many old webpages. I do not know who the NC Pres of YTRN is now. Melinda had nothing to do with the lady who gave a yorkie away in NC........I am just really, really hurt that we were trashed on a public forum like this..... |

and Im so glad you know this other rescue, I was so afraid someone got the info about the dogs from the internet and they might end of at a mill or something. Im so glad you are apart of this rescue, thanks hun I feel alot better now. Oh and I wanted to say I wasnt at all trashing you all, I was trying to find you all to make sure these babys were going to a legit rescue is all. But after talking to Melinda and Maxine again I did feel better just knowing they wasnt even asking for the AKC papers becaus ethey was going to pet homes that really showed me it was true. |

IMO~when YorkieShadow asked for help she was given information from this poor woman who had just lost her mother and was very distraught. At the same time she is trying to close her breeding business and make arrangements to leave town for her mother's funeral. Under those circumstances I think we all would be a little confused and frazzled. Everyone here at YT have a passion for yorkies and most would do anything in their power to assure the well being of the breed. The internet is a very scary place and there are many bad people out there looking to do evil. Being involved in rescue, I am sure that you have seen just how uncaring people can truly be with animals. :( We were only trying to insure that these dogs were actually going to a safe place. I just wish after the first click of the mouse all of our questions would have been answered. We all started to panic when we kept hitting dead ends. I truly would have jumped into my car and drove the 5 hours to Ohio if it would have come to that~thankfully it did not. But sadly 2 have since died which is heartbreaking. I am very relieved that all of this has been straightened out and they are now on their way to loving forever homes. Please accept my apology if you feel that I personally trashed you or your organization. Anyone that is involved in rescue has a wonderful heart and needs to be treated with great regard. Maybe if YorkieShadow had also been contacted by your rescue most of this confusion would have been avoided. Jodi |
I think I freaked because the breeder said I gave this person the info on her dogs and when she said a lab rescue I knew I hadnt talked to a lab rescue and with me getting the two members names here mixed up Rusty\'s Momma and RustysMom thats what confused me even more. I asked for help because I have dialup and couldnt find the information I needed and then a member here told me about the two names and I was like ah thats the mix up. after that i started feeling better. and after talking again to Malinda and to Maxine I started getting a better picture of it all. and Melinda was very nice and said she could understand my worry with all the mills out that and she thought I was very nice friend to worry and make sure these babies were going in the right hands. and I do feel better now. |
Cool Debbie! i did not mean you Hon, reading all the posts and in some folks did not trust us. I was a member of YTRN of NC and sadly NC is not well represented by them anymore, so a few of the folks struck out on their own, formed a new org and I hope we become the best org in NC. I have known M.H. for many years, she came to a YT Meetup in Greensboro and gave a talk on rescue. She does not post here often because she does not have the time to stare at a computer all day. I do look at the rescue forum at least twice a week to see if there is anyone in NC we can help. We are listed in the sticky that Admin prepared of rescues available. I did not call the breeder myself because I do not talk well anymore since my stroke and asked M.H. to call her. Hope all is understood......... |
