Lunadee, You might also want to PM SoCalyorkiLvr for some information regarding taking your baby places with you - she has some really interesting reading in this area and also something you can carry with you to present to management in the event of these confrontations in certain circumstances... I'm sorry you had to go through this.. The same thing happened with me a couple of months ago.. I took Mocha (before she died) for a walk and realized i needed to pick up toliet paper.. I walked into CVS and the lady screamed saying "animals aren't allowed, you can tie her up outside".. I was like I only need 1 thing and she started yelling saying that "the dog will contaminate the food" I looked at her and was like, "what food?!?" Its not like to took her to the supermarket.. People make me so mad |

I don't bring coco in ANY public establishment without her being in her carry bag which looks like a purse. IMO I do it because everyone may not like dogs as much as we do and its just a matter of respect. I would not walk in a public place with coco just in my arms. I have never been kicked out of anywhere because most of the time they dont' know shes in there. One time in the mall I was in a store that had small aisles and if we are in a mall I usually unzip the flap on her bag so her head can stick out. Well we walked past this woman and as we walked by coco stuck out her tongue and licked the ladies arm That woman SCREAMED bloody murder!!!! I had to apologize a million times until she calmed down. She said she it frightened her because she didn't see her in the bag and that I should zip it up so that doesn't happen to anyone else. |
That's hilarious Wolftrap! I work in a library and recently, somebody brought their dog in here (mini. poodle). I would have helped her sneak the dog around the library (we aren't serving food!), but one of the librarians caught this little old woman with the poodle. Librarians are notorious for following rules, of course. So he told her to leave the dog outside, which she refused (I would too). Then the little old woman yelled at him and told him that she brought FiFi everywhere with her in France. Then the dog started chewing on the librarian's leg. The story the librarian told is that Fifi then lifted her leg and started to pee on the books - HOWEVER, my argument is that Fifis don't lift legs because Fifis are usually girls! I think he just said that so people wouldn't get mad at him for being mean to an old lady and her dog. I like the story better though when Fifi pees on the books - it serves the library right for not allowing dogs. |
I took Macie into Cabellas, it's like Bass Pro, and we caused a small traffic jam. Eveyone wanted to see her. I guess that's when they noticed us/ her and they told us they had kennels for dogs and they weren't allowed in. We left. She hadn't had all her shots yet and she doesn't belong in a kennel; she's a princess! |
I only take my dog to the pet store and to the nursing home.. The elderly people love to pet him and it makes him feel even more special..... :aimeeyork |
I had a call recently by "Gallup Poll" wondering if I would answer a few questions re: Wal-Mart! I said "only if you are willing to hear a complaint when we finish"! She agreed ... I answered the questions ... then told her exactly how I felt about Wal-Mart. I explained how tiny Toto is and that she isn't taken out of her carrier when we are out and there is no way I would allow her to walk on any filthy Wal-Mart floor that I have ever shopped in! I explained to her that she is always with us and that my husband and I can't shop together because one of us has to stay in the car with the air conditioner/heat going depending on the season. When we were working in Missouri, Wal-Mart was about the only place to grocery shop and one day in the produce department I noticed that the floor was particularily "yucky". As I went over to look at veggies in the counter, a FLOCK of birds flew out and I screamed to the top of my lungs!! It scared me out of my wits ... then I noticed that the "yuck" all over the floor was bird krap!! I almost threw up! They were pecking on the veggies!! I looked up and there was more than a dozen waiting on the ceiling beams to swoop down again! I have seen birds [maybe one or two] in stores before ... they get in when the warehouse doors are opened and I understand this ... but, a whole FLOCK of birds?!? I never shopped in their produce department again and every time we had to buy anything there it just felt nasty! Now, tell me that a tiny Yorkie in your bag is nasty?!? |
