Teddy is APRI i have no clue what it means lol. I have never had a registered pup before.. i have had ppl make me feel like he isnt as good as theirs cause he isnt AKC... they have also sug that he isnt a full yorkie cause of his size :confused: thanks

don't let other people's ignorance get to you...everyone is entitle to their own opinion...and that is all it is...their opinion...who are they to tell you any different...

I so feel your pain... my Tootie is CKC and I have been told by many that he is not "full" yorkie. wellll, he is to me! he is 16 lbs. of LOVE! I couldnt ask fo a sweeter boy! Some people just have a stronger "opinion" than others about our babies.

I enjoy the best of both worlds, with my Hopey being AKC and weighing a whopping 5 lbs...

they are both beautiful to me! I love my babies!

My girl is CKC as well and the dad that she was bred with was also CKC and they litter of course is CKC. They are FULL yorkies and just that. IMO CKC, APRI, and AKC are just titles that dont mean anything to me. I believe that all yorkies are beautiful and worth the love. I use to think that my girl should have been AKC as i use to have people say the same thing to me. BUT im not showing her and she is a furbaby to my family and we all love her. Those that are getting one of her puppies dont care that she is CKC either as they fell in love at first site. Dont let anyone get you down. Just take a deep breath go to your furbaby pick them up kiss them on their nose and hold them and enjoy them. As they can make a bad day become your BEST day! :yorkiesar

However, we should love our pet no matter what their "pedigree" is.

As far as size, many purebred Yorkies are bigger than the standard of 7 pounds and below. That's just the size the breed for, but some turn out bigger.

Someone else can probably answer that for you..I am not too familiar with APRI...but from my understanding they allow breeders to registered any dogs....meaning the breeder purchased an AKC pet only dog (limited registration) and breed it...they would not be able to register the liter with AKC due to the limited registration but they could however turn around and registered it with APRI. Or it means that maybe the sire was AKC and the dam was CKC which then the liter could not be registered with AKC because both sire and dam has to be AKC registered in order to registered the liter thru AKC...they could however registere with CKC showing or APRI. I could be wrong so don't hold me to my words...hehe

so is it kinda what the ppl could afford?!?!? The lady I bought him from was a great breeder, not a puppy mill... a hobby breeder i guess?? she does it for the love of the aniaml not the money.. she did stay at my house for 2 hrs before she left him here though!!

She may have gotten the dogs from a pet store, there are lots of puppy mills in Missouri, and they sell to Pet Stores. I'm just saying that APRI is used mainly by commercial breeders, but someone could buy one of their dogs and start breeding, and the offspring would be registered with APRL. Most good breeders will not sell with breeding rights so some people look for dogs registered with the alternative registries if they want to breed. It is also possible that the person selling you the dog was a puppy broker and only sold dogs, but did not breed them. Most people like to think that their dog came form a nice person who took loving care of the parents, so puppy brokers often say that they are the ones that bred the dog. To be safe you should always go to the house where the dogs were raised and inspect it yourself.

I don't know about registrations, I know about AKC & CKC and that's all. I don't have Lilly registered though, I don't see a point in it considering she's just a pet and I've seen others on here say the same.

I also don't care about what others think, just ignore them, you know what's right and what's not. :D

he is 9 lbs of muscle! AND I LOVE HIM! i originally wanted a yorkie cause they are small, but he fits right in with our active and crazy lifestyle!! i dont think a tiny pup would do well in our home, i think i made a great decision and he is so loved!!
