Parrot barks 1 Attachment(s) When we got spanky Our Parrot picked up his bark in about a week. When we got Violett the Parrot did her little quack Bark in 2 days Now she is really barking and the parrot knows the difference between the two. So he now does all 3 Barks LOL and then asks them if they have to go Potty or if they want a treat. its so funny |
I see that you have an african gray.. . This is my dream bird. THey are incredibly smart.. That is way too funny . :lol tears I bet this drives your Yorkies nuts to have your bird make fun of them ... HA ha :D I have two cocketiels, my Suzi loves to annoy them. one of them will snap back at her. |
That is too funny... MY MIL had one and he used to mimic all her lady friends when they came to play cards. The one lady had a horrible cackle of a laugh.. she never caught on that the bird was making fun of her. all the club ladies had a hard time keeping straight faces playing cards after a few glasses of wine.... It was too funny.. Gotta love animals.... |
That's too funny. Poor puppies.:lol tears |
We have 2 greys and they drive the dogs nuts! When I first got Lexilyn she would stand at the cage and try to find the person talking to her. I don't think she still quite understands its coming from the birds. They bark like her but also squeal like she does when my fox terrier gets her (she picks on him till he snaps at her, her fault!!) One big happy zoo! |
Love your bird!! We have a Cockatoo and she barks at the dogs and it is so funny to watch the pups reactions. She also likes to mess with me when we take pics, or we are training. She will yell GOOD JOB right before I am ready to say that. She is a crazy cockatoo! I would love to have a Grey one day. Absolutely love them! Deana Prestigeous |
He is alot of fun when the kids were little he would yell at my son to get in here right now stop that. He also says he's prayers at night. Now i lay me down to sleep I pray the lorddddddddd. thats all he knows of it. He just learned to say Vilottttttttt come on baby girl. he never did learn to say spanky they say what they want when they want lol. but he does talk alot he ask my guest if they have to go POTTY???? and do they want to go Potty Outside? Just to funny I really Should try and video it for you all to see |
I have two african greys and they also love to mimic the dogs barking:) My blue and gold macaw can't bark, but whenever he hears me ask the dogs if they want to go out, always offers "I want out" Martha |

That is too funny! thanks for the "pick me up" |
This Is A Great Thread... Love The Thoughts Of Being A Fly On The Wall. We Do Need A Video |
How cute! I would love to have a parrot |
That is so funny! We have a Red-Bellied Parrot named Wrigley. He does Taylor's bark exactly. We try to keep Taylor from barking. Wrigley knows that when Taylor barks he is scolded, so just when we get Taylor calmed down...Wrigley gets him started again by barking. Wrigley just loves when Taylor gets in trouble! :D |
There os a guy who walks the beach in Negril every morning with his on his shoulder. This bird is so smart that when he greets a Jamaican he says Whagwaaaaaaaaaaan (what's going on in patois), if it is an American person, he simply says hello. |
He also says it knows that the dog is another creature and not a human. He holds long conversations with people, but when the dog enters the room all he ever says to it is "get out of here." |
Thats is awesome. I'd love to see a video too! OMG I think I would pee my pants if I heard a bird say "wanna go potty"...LMAOOOOOOOO |
I also have a grey " Otis " he will call all the dogs by name, he can talk in my voice and my husband voice, he will actually carry on a conversation with himself, he crow like a rooster, moo like a cow, of course barks like a dog, his newest thing is he has finally master the Marines hymn he whistles it from start to finish, my husband taught him that, my son is a Marine. his most annoying thing is the back up horn the tractor makes he will do that non stop. he also tells us when some drive down our road he yells at the top of his voice " someone coming" he also tells me when he wants something special other then his reg food, like I want Apple, Otis is 15yrs old, I hand fed him when he was a baby, he is set in his ways though, moody, hateful at times, and a sweetheart at other times. we also have a cockatoo name bailey he doesn't talk as much as Otis, Bailey is always a sweetheart loves to be held and cuddle. |

We once had a parakeet that would meow like our cat. My bro in law came down to feed them one day while we were gone and sd he thought we had got another cat that he did not know about. He could see our cat but the sound was coming from the corner with the bird. Our cockatiel could whistle Frosty the Snowman. |
My grandmother has one that when you ask him "can you talk?" He will reply with "No, birds cant talk stupid!" Lol |

Very cute! My parents have a blue and gold that used to LOVE to torture our first dog. She would mimic my mother's voice completely and my poor dog Cherie would come running across the house to my Mother's voice. It took her awhile to figure out the difference. She never got Cherie's bark or any of the other dogs. But she will freakishly "predict" the phone ringing sometimes, I think she must hear/sense the phone about to ring (the wires and what not) and it creeps me out every time she does it! |
1 Attachment(s) Our African Grey Sam loves to torture our Yorkie. He's so smart, like most greys and knows dozens of words and phrases, not to mention microwave timers, cell phone beeps, and creaking doors. He will call her name, tell her "good girl" or "no no." He loves to stand on the apron on the bottom edge of the cage and the two of them play "chicken" Here's a pic of that. But then, sometimes he loses his balance and falls to the floor, and Selah pounces on him and he starts quacking. Oh, it's a zoo. I don't know if they just love to play together that way (they are about the same size) or if they just love watching my husband and I flip out when its time to separate the two of them. |
I have wanted a parrot for so long, but I think in order to have one, you must be totally committed, as they have a very long life span.Is it true that they have the intelligence of a five year old? |
OH how funny!! We had a bird that picked up my baby's cry, I never knew if it was the bird or the baby!! It really drove this new mom nuts at the time!! |
Thats so awesome! I saw one in a pet store that meowed like a kitty! |

When we just had one Yorkie (Archie), he and our cherry head conure (Buddy) were best friends. Archie would sit in the recliner and Buddy would fly over to him. He would clean Archie's teeth and Archie would lick him. It was so funny. Our vet once asked us how we kept Archie's teeth so clean. We told her we did nothing, the bird did it. That all stopped when we added to our Yorkie family as a couple of them would try to go after Buddy. We also had an African Grey but we re-homed her as they really require more time than I was able to give her. We still have Buddy and a Moluccan Cockatoo named Floyd. You outta hear it when we come home and the dogs are barking, Buddy's squawking and Floyd lets out screeches that would wake the dead. :aimeeyork :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :D |
