Do you love to brush your yorkie?? Anyone else love to brush their babies?? I was just sitting on the floor with Bo working the mats out from his, ummm:questione ...armpits??...leg-pits??? Whatever, you know where I mean. He's got the cottony coat that will always mat, I'm afraid, unless some miracle happens and it totally changes by the time he's two. So anyway, as I was combing him I thought, I really love to do this. It's kind of a bonding time for me and my little boy. I don't even mind cleaning his eye crumblies. Well, not much. Bo seems to like getting that part cleaned up. Brushing him is very therapeutic for me. Kinda like pulling weeds. Except I'm weeding my yorkie! A couple weeks ago I was giving Bo his once-over and I had a flashback to when I was around seven. I remember that I had a yorkie stuffed animal. I asked my mom and she said I used to love to brush it. It came with it's own little brush. I used to sit for a long time and brush brush brush that thing. Of course it never looked any good. Whatever it's fur was made of always looked like a bushy mess! Now, does Bo enjoy it as much as me? For the most part, I think he does. He loves having his head and back brushed. Not so much his legs. He lays still pretty well though cause he's a good boy and wants to please his mommy (most of the time!) And when I get to the mats under his arms...he just goes to his happy place!! |

I don't mind brushing Bell, but Bell doesn't like it anymore since she has all these matts lately. She aso has that cottony coat.. and the puppies are destroying it |

Yes!! I love brushing Sammi...We call it "Brush Brush" When I tell her that she goes right on the bed and sits down... |

lucky you. with me and rex its a death match. he tries to be a good boy and hides his head under my arm n mopes until i am done |

Codie and Katie are pretty good about brushing. Although I keep Codie's hair pretty short, so there isn't much brushing involved. But I do run a brush through Katie's goldie locks at least once a day (sometimes I try and do it twice). |

wow total opposite experience.. ilike to do it only when hes groggy about to go to sleep b/c he lets me!! i have the worse time doing his legs and armpits... i have been battling one particular matt that i cnat get to .. on his right side.. its near to impossible!! but lil by lil i think its almost out |

toby loves to be brushed, as soon as i get the brush out he sits on my lap and stays as still as a statue...... i dont brush him all that often, he doesnt get mats at all, and i never find any tangles in is coat anyways :p i brush him every couple of weeks or so when i am bored and watching tv |

thats amazing .. what shampoo/detangler do you use? |

I love to brush Olivia because it's one of the only times I get her to myself. Even when my bf isn't home, the cat is always "stalking" her, trying to get her to play! She's getting better about being brushed, but she still is a little antsy in her young age. I've been putting her up on the counter (under VERY close supervision) while I brush her because she stays most still when there. |

i love to brush lexi, she hates it..... she doesnt stay still and it drives me crazy.... she dont mind in on her back, but the minute you go towards her face, she jerks away,, she hates it... |

I love brushing my dogs. Chachi doesnt like to be brushed he has a real cotton coat. Jewels doesnt hardly ever need to be brushed. She has a silk coat. |

detangler??????................ i cant even use detangler on MYSELF (im allergic) and as for shampoo, i just use some cheapo petsmart shampoo for puppies.... here this is the one http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...=1123706563095 im thinking about switching to something with oatmeal in it for the next time i buy shampoo |

I brush Maximus everyday sometimes 2x a day...when he got neutered I didn't brush him for a few days...and he had a little knot of his front right leg....but otherwise he was still tangle free...I go in with the brush and then finish up by going through his coat with the comb to make sure he is completely smooth...as long as he has a comb and a brush also..he is all for it...lol. His coat is growing in thinner and silkier then his puppy coat but I have never had a matt before the one on his leg!! |

I would love to brush Deegan more if he didn't fight me so much. Hopefully as he grows up, he will learn to like it. But right now, he hates it! It's nothing but a war between the two of us. Too bad, because like you said, it would be a good bonding experience and be therapeutic as well. You are very lucky to have your dog be so good. Enjoy it! |

orinksy: all ihave to say is WOW! LOL |

I LOOOOVE brushing Esme. When she sees me grab her brush and her special after grooming treat she goes to the sofa and waits for me. I sit and she hops on my lap. Sometimes I can brush her for up to 30 minutes, especially if I am watching TV at the same time. It is very soothing and a very special bonding time for us. I think she enjoys it as much as I do... atleast I hope so! |

grrrrrrrr..lol when i first got him it was still cold and so i would have him with a sweater to keep warm .. this caused a lot of the tangles.. so now im very iffy in him wearing clothing.. :( b/c the battle i have when i get near his legs and pits... |

I have noticed that he is not an average dog, in all the dogs i have had i have NEVER had one like him..... he doesnt do a lot of stuff that dog do, chewing? ect.... its like he skipped the puppy stage altogether and not having to brush him for months at a time is nice too :p i only brush him every couple of weeks because he likes it........ if he didnt then i just wouldnt bother at all, he never really NEEDS it........ sorry, i wish i had some sort of miracle shampoo suggestion or something to help you out ;) |

I love to brush Gus, I find it very relaxing. He used to fall asleep but lately he has been giving me a hard time..it might be because his coat is getting long and it takes more time. When he is all brushed out it feels so silky - of course it takes him about five minutes to look like I haven't brushed him in a week. |

4 Attachment(s) Gucci lets me brush her back and head, but When i try to brush the hear on her legs and armpits she finght me to get loose. Yesterday I was brushing her I found a couple of matts. I tried to get it off but she fighted me so much I ended up cutting her hair a bit. My hubby hates it. He told me I butchered her. I dont think it looks that bad. I told him her will grow back. I notice that she gets nuts in the area the harness touches. It is hassle. Any suggestions? Attached see pics of Gucci after her haircut and the last pic t aken on July to compare. |

yes, i love brushing maisy, except she loves chewing on her brush, so i have to give her a greenie to chew on and then she will stay still for hours!! lol |

I really enjoy this time with our Yorkies.. Everyone really seems to enjoy this special bonding time and Shiloh gets really jelous while he waits for his turn.. I love it when their hair gets nice and long and I can brush it out and it kinda cascades down over the sides of my leg.. Like a little Yorkie blanket.. :) |

I love to brush Gracie but she absolutely hates it. Everytime I get the brush out she hides :( |

Not really...it is a fight for me to brush Stomper. He does not like it one bit! |

Coco loves to be groomed. She loves clearing her eye boogers and moving the hair out of her eyes. She will just sit still and let me groom her front, back, belly, and all. Even when I trim her or her nails, she is really good. |

I brush mine practically every day and matting isn't a problem. Both girls tolerate brushing pretty well, except their feet, they always jerk them back. Chloe will just lay on her side an enjoy the treatment but Lacey gives me that please hurry up and finish look. |

I brush Tiah, but not faithfully. She never gets tangles or mats. I guess she really does make things easy on me. She is SUCH a good girl. |
