Mine is 16lbs. He's the greatest dog EVER. Does anyone else have people doubting that their dog is really a Yorkie because of it's size? Mine is AKC registered, so I know he's truly a Yorkie but my groomer insists he can't be since he's so big. I know it doesn't really matter, but is still annoys me... |
hopefully this breeder didnt tell you your pups gonna be 5 lbs or anything :P mickey's 9 lbs but his half sister casey is like 15 lbs as long as your baby's healthy, and not obese (if he is the vet will tell you) |
My Baxter is 12 lbs, and Snickers is 10 lbs. All the beauty and attitude of a yorkie in a sturdy package. It really is the best of both worlds! |
My Dayzee is a teapot and proud of it. |
For everyone with a larger Yorkie, what was the growth rate like? My Romeo will be 12 weeks on Monday and he's already almost 6lbs!!!! The breeder told me he'd be 6-7 pounds full grown (yea right!) but I'm just curious as to how big he'll actually be. Of course I'll love him either way; I just won't be able to sneak him into restaurants anymore :yelrotflm |

I love larger yorkies and love every ounce of my boy. |
Jake is 5 month and 12 pound:eek: |
My Chewy is the eldest and he is 13 lbs (gained some this winter) then comes my girl at 8 lbs and the other boy is my tiny one at 5 lbs. Plus I have a Shih Tzu at 7 lbs. We have a great time with them all. Of course I get a bit nervous when they all gang up on the little one. But they sure have fun and we love them to bits. |
Molly is 15lbs and seems small to me. I love that she is a little chunky monkey. :D |
I feel much better now. I was afraid that Duke was to big, as he's about 8lbs at 7 months. I see so many on here that are 3-4lbs. He seems like a giant compared to those dogs. I'm actually glad he's a little bigger. He is such a rough maniac always jumping and bouncing its a good thing he's sturdy.;) |
Hi everyone! We're new to this site and came across this thread whilst looking for how big other people's Yorkies have become...Our Yorkie is going to be a monster! He's not even 5 months old and he's already 15 and a half pounds (7kg's)! He's all in poportion, though, and is full of mischief and we love him to bits!! We've just put a deposit down on a 2 week old Yorkie. His parents aren't as big, so don't think he'll be quite so huge! Can't wait to get him and make Charlie a big brother! :D |
Breed standard (in England, and I think here in the USA) is up to 7 lbs. But hey, not all dogs are "standard" like all humans's aren't "standard" I believe the original Yorkshire terriers were around 12 to 14lbs. You all have a lot more Yorkie to love - and one can't have too much Yorkie to love. |
I've got one teapot, Rhett who is a hair under 9 lbs at 6 months. Then I've got Scarlett who is charting to be in the more "standard" range of 5-6 lbs. I love them both to bits. I love the variation in shapes and sizes. It just proves how amazing these guys are. |
Welcome to the teapot club!! Bilbo is a small teapot, I'm guesstimating around 10 lbs here. Super snuggly : ) |
I have one as well Riley is 10 lb..I dont mind at all..I dont have to worry when he jumps off the couch..unlike Bella, who is 5 months old and 3 lb and I am constantly on the verge of a heart attack since she is a jumper,,and she could EASILY brake something.,Im gonna have to join the Teapot club too I didnt know there was one.. |
Cody is 5 months old and is weighing in at 10 pounds -- and we love every ounce of him!! |
Guess Beau will be a teapot too!! He was neutered on June 29th at 6 months old and was 7.4 lbs. Guess this is a good thing since he is such a jumper!! He is fearless!!!!!! Edit:: Please direct me to the teapot club :-) |
My Samantha weighs in at 14 lbs. I just saw a 25 lb yorkie today!!! He was monstrous but a real beauty even though he was huge. |
OMG I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I had never seen one his size until I got him. He's 12lbs (not chubby, just a longer body). He is definitely a card carrying member of the "Teapot" club! |
my Buddy is a large boy also!! he weighs around 16-20 lbs! and is 14 months old...he has a large body structure, not fat at all! he is also registered...i had wondered how common a size like this was... |

I thought the same thing when I took Taz to the vet. Taz weighed 10.5 lbs and I freaked!! The bigger babies need love too!! :) |
My BamBam is going on 7 months old and weighs 6 pounds. The vet doesn't think he will weigh more than 8 pounds. I hope he stays small. |
It's OFFICIAL. We have to be card carrying members now because my boy weighs 15 lbs! Where's the pen I'm ready to sign...lol |
Lets see some pics of that beg baby!!! I bet he is adorable |
I am not new to the site, but I haven't been using it and have no clue how to do that LOL. I'm so technologically behind LOL I will see what I can do...but he is a little handsome devil ;) |
