You should use a more stern voice... they go by your tone.. so if you're babying her she thinks she's being a good girl.. I have also found that asking her to be a good girl wont help.. I tell her shes a giid girl when she actually is being a good girl... and she associates it with being good and getting a treat... so if I said "you be a good girl..." while she was barking, she would think barking was going to get her a treat. But yep you've got a pretty standard yorkie baby there.. just be stern and consistent and she'll learn. |
Oh that is hilarious |

I tried what yall said! One stern NO and she came up and started giving me bunches of kisses! haha (This episode was her wanting to bite my fingers as I try to crop images) Then went and laid down - I got to stop babying her - think it may have scared her. Shocked her at least. I didnt say it loud - but stern. Thanks ! |
My mom's pom does this.... and she growls and kinda looks away from you like she's testing us!! omg its so cute but at the same time so darn devious, lol.... all i can say is SPOILED!!!! my mom spoils the heck out of her always has, we all did since she was the only little one in the house until Shelby came along :) but yes, i definitely think its got a lot to do with how high and mighty they feel.... i dont think it ever goes away or if u can even teach them to stop.... GOOD LUCK, though! |
Roxy has a major case of attitude going on! She has the little growlie thing down pat. She barks next. Then comes the foot stomping and back leg kicking. Finally, she gives a few big huffs and stomps off. Typical teenage girl. Remi is just Remi. He just goes with the flow. He only get his helium snorting howl when he's super excited about something. But he doesn't talk back. I never thought to take a video of it, tho. Your's is so cute. She's definitely testing you. |
haha when I played the video, Lucie was staring at the laptop screen trying to figure out where the dog was. I give her a stern No when she is trying to go after things like the laptop cord, and if she's in a spunky mood she talks back, I find that taking the laptop cord (or whatever it may be) away and ignoring her barking usually gets her to stop really quick. |
Shew - so nice to know I havent created a monster! :D |

She is bullying me at this very moment! The stern ONE NO! Is working in keeping her 'back' but she pouches forward like she is GOING to lick my hand then runs back barking. Ew - shes a BRAT! This is only a computer and bird issue - otherwise she doesnt do it. So - its jealousy induced. She is jealous of the computer and the bird as they take up a fraction on my time. I am hers - I should know this by now. |

I wish I could record that Macaw sound Maya makes if I ignore her too long. |
