Puppy getting busy with toy monkey
 
This is kind of embarrasing but my five month old female yorkie seems to have developed a fond, if not strange, attachment to her stuffed squeaky monkey toy. It just seems odd that she's still a pup and sort of humping the monkey. I mean, really getting into it. Plus, she's a girl. I'm very confused. Has anyone had a similar experience? Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

Be glad!!! My breeder gave me a teddy bear with Chachi and he humps it. My breeder told me to be glad that probably he would only hump that and not other things like your legs.

Thanks for your response! I see Chachi is a boy. Don't you think it's odd about my dog because she's a girl?

Ahhh Humping...Sammi is a 20 month old spayed female and STILL HUMPS!! :) It makes great convo when you have company...:)

From what I am told it has to do with dominance...

I just found my girl humping my teddy bear yesterday. I had never seen her display this type of behavior, it was kind of cute but a little weird. Maybe she was doing something else, but I always thought of myself as someone who can distinguish between humping and playing... :confused:

My female doesn't hump but Ive heard on here other people who said their females hump.

I tried to convince myself of this...lol...it's a hump!!!

Well it seems like it's not unknown for girl yorkies to do. So, I feel a bit better. Still, it is a bit disconcerting to see her...

The idea that it has to do with dominance sounds interesting. I'll have to look into that and do some online researching.

I've only seen her do it once, and that was yesterday. So I thought "Hey she's just pushing the bear back with her hind legs, like playtime." But thanks for bursting that bubble Sam..haha..so my cute, fluffy, fufu, well dressed, well scented, well mannered dog is HUMPING :eek:

'Fraid so, mom :eek: Hey, remember the special name you had for girls at your high school that acted that way? I'm kidding :D

And for those that still can't tell.....Trace is more than willing to come over and give demonstrations.....with animate or inanimate objects....LOL

and the kicker is Maximus only did it 1-2 times pre-neuter...since his neuter I have caught him doing it 3 times...go figure..it does look funny though..kinda like he's rowing a boat..but standing up

Oh you have to see Sammi...If I say to her "Sammi, where's Oliver" she goes right over to her "humping bear" Oliver and humps away!! She is FRESH!!! She sometimes gets out of breath and we ask her if she needs a cigarette :)

Chachi did it when he was real young and also started back up since hes been neutered.

I am laughing to hard I'm crying....I don't want to accept that she's humpy girl. I think if Trace came over, for a demonstration, we would have a humpfest.
