Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, BLESS him. You have already been given some AWESOME advice. Love, Love, Love is the way to go mixed with LOTS of cuddles, patience, praise when he is being a good little baby and then MORE Love, cuddles and patience. LOL He is just a wee little thing. It will get easier. Just follow the advice of the EXPERTS here and ENJOY your brand new FURBABY !!! Oh, WELCOME to YT !!!!!!! |
Mine is almost 7 weeks old and cries and whimpers a little bit... but not hardly at all at night... she has a large duckey that she sleeps on. During the day she whimpers if she isn't getting attention, but my 4 yr old twins give her plenty!! |
Veronica, please stop growling at your yorkie and spraying water on him. A nine week old Yorkie is an infant. He is a baby. So, please stop trying to scare him more. You sound like you and your boyfriend are upset with your Yorkie because he cries. Well, babies cry. If you no longer want him - Please post that. And I am positive there will be many Yorkie talk members who would be glad to take your Yorkie baby off your hands. - - Including me. |

Welcome!!! I'm glad to hear that he is doing better. You've gotten some great advise. Don't be afraid to ask questions here. Most people are very helpful. There will always be some negitive posts...but ignore them. Some people only read the first post and don't read the whole thread before they answer. Good luck with your baby...can't wait to see some pictures!!! |
Puppies are developing their safety and trust issues right now at the age of your puppy so I wouldn't do any of the negative things to correct behavior especially during the 8-12 week time period. You will increase the startle reaction and other timid behaviors at this time. You want complete trust. Puppies cry to get their mothers to respond. Moms learn to ignore them if they are safe and warm and know they are actually ok. Puppy is actually way to young to be away from what the mom teaches them so your role now is very important. My breeder wouldn't even let me have a very little one until 4 months. Twelve weeks is the very minimum to be away. Mom's and siblings teach far more than we realize. You have a very tiny infant that can really only respond to warmth, cuddling, gentle correction of moving it away from things and such. It's awhile before it could even respond to any negative reinforcement. Think like a mother to a new born baby and you will be fine except is really is ok to leave them alone in their crates thru the night. It is much safer than having one in your bed. Way to dangerous at this young age. Your pup will learn something new every day so hang in there. |
Hello everyone! Just for the record, after reading the first few posts on how NOT to spray or growl at my dog, I stopped! He is so full of life and we love him to death!!! We would NEVER give him to anyone else, he is way too precious! On a side note, I just wanted to thank all of you for your positive feedback and for those who don't have constructive feedback, please keep them for yourself! Thanks again for the warm welcome! Veronica |

Im sorry. Everyone has to deal with a little negativity. And no one need to attack you for your mistakes. I learned by trial and error, and most of us here did. we have all made mistakes that doesnt make you a bad person or subject to negativity. I am proud of you for seeing that it didnt work and you were searching for other ways to try to help your baby. that is commendable. |

hope all is well with your puppy. i think lots of play dates with his sister will be a good thing. comforting him when he cries is the best way.. he will have to grow out of it..unless you can keep the pair together for 2 months.. good luck:aimeeyork |
