"Dogster" Ice Cream Does anyone have opinions on this stuff? I got some for Joey and he LOVES it - just wondering if it is ok for him...I got it at the local grocery store and it says it is low calorie and safe, but I just wanted to check with everyone on YT because you all know best!! |
Never heard of it. Where can you buy it-grocery, pet store? I am intrigued. |
I bought it for Maximus...he liked it one day then not the next...lol, then he liked it again...I beleive it is okay for them, I looked at the ingredients and all seemed A-OK |
I've never heard of "Dogster" Ice Cream but I give my 2 "Frosty Paws" Ice Cream :D They both love it! Here's a link: http://www.frostypawstreats.com/FrostyPaws/default.aspx |
i saw that at albertson's today..i was thinking of getting it..let us know if yours likes it!! |
I must confess that when we get an ice cream at McDonalds, I ask for a baby cone, and Snoodles goes nuts over it. We don't do this much, only 2 times this summer, but once in a while even dogs need a good treat that is bad for them.lol Pat |
We give Gracie Frosty Paws whenever we have ice cream and she LOVES it...she is always shivering after she eats it though :) It is really cute!! |
Never heard of that..I feed Frosty Paws as well :) |
I'm scared to get some for Gus,,,, I know he will love it but the few times that I have him ice cream,,,,,, it gave him really bad gas. So I try and keep him away from it for fear of the smell. LOL |
We used to give Gracie and Sampson Frosty Paws, but it made them so thirsty and I had to take them out a couple of times during the night after they ate it. YUK! So, I found a recipe for "icecream" and made it for them and they LOVE it and it does not make them thirsty or hype them up. 32 oz low fat yogurt, plain 1 jar baby bananas 2 tablespoons honey 2 tablespoons peanut butter Mix it all and freeze it in individual containers. |
Gee Thanks for the recipe! I wrote it down and put in my Yorkie food folder. I will certainly use it. Thanks again! Sounds really, really good! Pat |
If I'm not mistaken, bananas cause major constipation in dogs, so maybe omitting the bananas in the recipe would be good. |
Bruce eats Frosty Paws but I only give it to him about once a week or I will give it if it is really hot and he needs a little refreshment. I only give 1/2 the container and he gobbles it up, still I think 1/2 is enough! |
i recently made Rex a treat and i use it when I eat so he is to busy to beg :p my recipe that i made up is; peanut butter little apple chunks[really little] cheerios broken up treats i take the peanut butter and evenly sspread a thin layer over a small plastic plate.take the other ingrediants and sprinkle them over the layer of peanut butter . freeze overnight. i take it away wen i finish eating and give it to him again next time i eat :p |
I used to feed mine Frosty Paws, but it gave them loose stools so I stopped. |
