Why are people so mean :(
 

I took Layla to class again today (This was her third time) because my parents were out of town and leaving her from 7 am to 1 pm with no pee/poop wouldn't have gone over :p So everyone in my class LOVES her (Special Ed. Part 1) and they love that she comes. Today we went out on break to have a pee and there was a guy there from the other section of Special Ed Part 1 and he was talking to a friend or something. I was talking to my friend Shannon but this guy was talking SO loud i could hear him and he goes "oh i see they made the rat leave" and his friend didn't get what he meant so he repeated himself and she was like oh... well i think the dog is cute... and then he made a kicking motion like he was going to kick Layla :( I mean... as a small dog owner you get used to taking a lot of heat, but this was just mean... i almost cried. I didn't say anything to him, i just walked away. But i felt like saying... it's ok if you don't lke small dogs.. not everyone does... but just because I might not like your kid doesn't give me the right to kick it (even though he DIDN"T kick Layla) but what astonished me is he is a teacher *sigh*. today was not a good day... i tried not to let it bother me but i love her more than anything, how can someone say that?

Oh my! How horrible. I don't know how you managed to keep from kicking the jerk! I would have gone ballistic! layla is a doll and don't you forget it. Rat indeed!

Anyway, I think a lot of guys think they have to be like that to show how macho they are. It wouldn't do for a "real" man to like or admire a cute little dog.

Can you complain about this guy to a higher authority? That insensitivity with the kicking really bothers me. He is teaching special ed? Does he pretend to kick the kids?

That's terrible! Was he a teacher or student? Some people have no brains!

Personally I don't let the idiots bother me.

This was a teacher... what fine people our board is hiring.... and yes..the course he is taking will allow him to teach children with special needs.

I KNOW some people have issues with small dogs and that's ok.. they aren't for everyone and they do come with some sterotypes that if you didn't know a small dog, you would believe to be true... it was just the kicking that broke my heart... she doens't deserve that and it would literally kill her.

Poor dumb boy- more testosterone than sense. I pity him.:p He sure doesn't have a clue how to impress a girl does he.:rolleyes: Don't let it get to you hun!:)

Sounds like a jacka$$ to me. Maybe his mamma dropped him on his head a few times. Pay him no mind. His life is empty becuase he has no yorkie or sense.

*sigh* because she is my child... honestly... i dont' have kids and she is everything and it's not ok with me that he treated her that way.. i'm sure tomorrow i'll be over it.... providing i don't see him!

That was mean of him. If he's teacher heshould be reported. A lot of guys think it dumps there machoness if they are seen with little dogs. His loss.

Hmm…how rude, and kind of scary he will be teaching special needs children. :eek:

That was terrible and especially coming from a teacher.:mad: Layla is beautiful and you can always come to your YT family for support and know that she's loved!!:D

I'm sorry this happened. There are people out there that just can't refrain from saying things that hurt others. Or in some situations don't help. Somewhere on here there was a post about men and little dogs and how it effects their ego's or machoisms. The real men out there are the ones not afraid to love or admit when they love someone or a little dog. My guess is he is afraid of his own manhood to admit he thinks the little dog is the cutest thing he ever saw. Just like when a little boy has a crush on a girl, he'll hit her and run away. Some of them are very strange characters while others are in complete touch with their emotions and not afraid to express it. Don't let it get the best of you, it doesn't matter what he thinks your baby is precious to you and he can't change that.

People are so rude!! I have a neighbor who yells...talks loudly...out his window to us as we go for our walks - calling her a rat dog. They're just miserable people - they wouldn't be if they met our furkids though :)

Gee I would have pulled out my 45 and shot him in the head (just kidding!) but really I would have said something like 'Are you sure you shoud be teaching because you are not to smart!":mad:

Poor You! Maybe he needs some comands "Try to teach him tricks like sit, stay, and then work on the poor manners of him. Say come in a firm voice and don't get frustrated or give up. He is an idiot:thumbdown I am surprise at his behavior, he is going to be working with kids!

With some of the teacher's my kids have had in college, this doesn't surprise me. When they get to college level it's like anyone can teach or something esp. idiots. I love the one about teach him some manners and some commands. Tell him to go to his place in the corner and lay down.

This teacher is setting a VERY POOR example and should be made to apologize where everyone can see it. Just as he made the rude comment and gesture where everyone could see it. :mad:

Well since Im getting older I stick up for myself lots more!!! When someone does or says something totally idiotic these days I just look at them and do a long ..... wow............................................... .........................and let them think it over.


My husband says hes tired of hearing that word. :)

Layla is beautiful. I understand how you are feeling. It's sad to think someone with a personality flaw like that is teaching children.
