| Hi everyone! I have an 8 year old Yorkie that is very spoiled. Recently, my friend decided that her yorkie was too much to handle and asked me if I would like to take it. Since my yorkie gets along well with other dogs, I decided to take her yorkie. So now I have 2 male yorkies, the eight year old and the 1 year old. The 1 year old has only been at our house for 2 days, and I am surprised how well the 8 year old is adjusting, except the fact that he sometimes gets very jealous and starts barking at the 1 year old. (He is very bossy) I do not want my 8 year old dog to feel neglected, since he has been the only dog I have had for 8 years. How can I make this adjustment comfortable for the both of them?? Since my eight year old dog is the alpha dog, I am hoping he will teach the 1 year old dog some things. I really want these 2 to get along. I have never had 2 dogs before, and I am hoping that I can make my home as comfortable for the new dog as well as the old one. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. ![]() |

| Donating YT 30K Club Member | Just give your 8 year old lots of extra attention. Feed him first, talk to him first etc. They will figure out there place. I have 4 females all different ages and they figure out their place in the pack, but they still get bouts of jealousy sometimes but I just love them all up.Congrats on your new baby.
