7 yorkies from 5.5 yrs to 9 months. Love em all but dont have enough hands to pet all at the same time.... |
Glad you asked this question.....I have 3 year old Rusty and 4.5 month old Cheyenne. Normally it takes 2 or 3 weeks for an older Yorkie to accept and start playing with a new puppy who has joined the household... I expected that. Rusty is so sweet to everyone he meets except Cheyenne. It took 8 weeks before he would give her the time of day.. I know, he is so spoiled and jealous. They still do not play or sleep together. Rusty growls at her alot and bares his teeth, but has never bitten her. If push comes to shove after the warnings, he lets her wallow all over him. And if she gets scared and cries, he is the first one there to check on her. He got alot better when I had her groomed at 4 months and all the puppy hair shaved off. I don't know why, but after bringing her home from the groomers, he will now give her the time of day. I have seen them playing together twice since then, so I am optimistic. |
I currently own two yorkies( both 3 years old) and two silkies (one is almost 2 and the other is 3) and also have another yorkie staying with me while I show him...so that makes five little ones at our house and it is great!! There are times where it is overwhelming but it is so great to come home to all those faces that love you like no else!! |
My boys are 11 months and 6 months. We've had Marley for 3 months now. I am so glad that they have each other. Pippin would wear us out at night. He wanted to play fetch until our arms almost fell off. Now he plays tug a war with Marley and they chase each other around. We still play fetch but they entertain each other a lot. It gets crowed on my lap. If Marley gets on my lap Pippin has to get up in front of him, so it's like I'm wearing a fur collar. I don't know what we would do without either one of them. |
I have 2 boys! Same liter, so the same age (3yo). Its been a journey! I adore them both for different reasons. I wish I had more hands sometimes though! I thought about a third but I think Im maxed out on 2. I only have 2 hands :) :) Luckily I did not have to deal with introducing them or getting one and then getting another, they were born together and if I have it my way, they will live their lives with me together for as long as we can! No fights between them ever. I say there is MILD jealousy sometimes but for the most part one is more independant than the other, and one is such a mamas boy so its kind of known between them who gets my lap! hehe They both are bed hogs and push up against me in sleep... I find myself on a corner of a queen bed sometimes to make sure they have room! haha They eat from the same bowl, sleep on the same bed and anyone who has one has to have both because they are always side by side! |
I have 3 Yorkies, MacTavish 1 1/2, Madeline 1 and my newest Mocha 5 1/2 yrs. Mac and Madeline play together constantly, which is good since I don't have the energy they do! Mocha is much more reserved. I guess he's their cheering section because he just sits and watches them race around, but barks at them if he feels they are being too rough. Perhaps he's their referee! LOL |
2 boys, 2 girls and currently 2 foster boys. |

We got Abby and Daisy only 9 days apart! Daisy was 2 and Abby was 10 wks. Daisy was rehomed due to a couple getting a divorce and nobody being able to keep her and we had been planning on Abby for 4 months, it just happened that way. I love having 2! They play together and keep each other company when we can't take them with us. I think the closer in age you get them, the better. I wish Abby and Daisy weren't nearly 2 yrs apart. I'd love to have another one, but I really couldn't afford to properly care for another one and spoil them the way I like to if I were to get another one. If money were an issue, I'd have 3! :) |
Humble opinion I think Yorkies come in pairs, we are on out second set, each other gives company when left alone and they play with us and each other! |
I have 3 yorkies. Lulu is 4 yrs, Bosley is a year and a half, and Baby Zoey just turned a year. They are all very attached to each other and If I can talk my husband into getting another one I will. LULU, BOSLEY, AND BABY ZOEY'S MOMMY |
